This hotel does need some updates but if you are looking for a clean room and a place to lay your head, you have found your spot. I wouldn't even take a bite of a burger from the restaurant but the brakfast bar is perfect and well run (these are separate areas within hotel). Not bad, but not perfect either. One or two nights in the area, you will have a good bed, clean area and amazing personnel. Food is close in Charles Town and other areas,

Positive: All the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. Check-in and -out were smooth and easy. The breakfast was nice, with good variety, and I liked the breakfast room when it was open. Negative: The pool was closed, which was a disappointment, but it's supposed to open up again soon. There were some discolored spots on the floor and ceiling that were unsightly but unthreatening - no sign of mold or ongoing water damage.

Positive: It's potential. Room was clean. Staff lovely. Liked location to Harper's Ferry. Area gorgeous. Liked the Rocking chairs out front. Breakfast enjoyable; dining room is bright and people able to spread out. Negative: Hotel is being renovated. The pool was closed for the weekend. These are things it would be good to know so as to change expectations.

The hotel was clean and the staff was pleasant. I thought the beds were too firm, but my husband thought they were comfortable. It is dated, although there are signs saying they are remodeling, so I guess they are in the process of fixing it up. The breakfast wasn't much to speak of, but it is sufficient. Overall, it wasn't a bad stay, but I don't think it is a place we would come back to.
