Very nice restaurant and location. Three stars removed for automatically included gratuity. We got the pork bao, Gruyère dumplings, and fried dough, all of which were very good. The shrimp dumplings were pretty good, but a little too doughy. The Bone Marrow entree sounds great, but we had to send it back and take it off the bill, which I’ve never done before. It was a way too salty, kind of sour mess. They were great about it, took it right off, and the manager even came over to explain that the white rice is intended to absorb the saltiness (though you’d need a pickup truck’s worth of rice to do the job). Overall a very good stop, with the exception of the included tip.

Delicious! It is a bit further away from the central businesses, but we are so glad to have tried it. Very unique flavors and a very novel fusion of Asian foods. They also make good chai tea! I had my doubts when trying businesses that offer a wide variety of food and drinks that are often specialized, but they are very good.

Food is one of a kind, combining the very best in flavors of Cambodian and Taiwanese cuisines. While everything on the menu is thoroughly satisfying, favorites include crystal shrimp dumplings, spicy cauliflower, Cambodian pho and Maketto fried chicken. Come in a party of more than 2 to try more dishes! A unique oasis combining restaurant, coffee shop, bar, vinyl store, and clothier. Refined and subdued interior. A must-see for folks visiting from out of town.

When my family and I visited Washington DC earlier, we couldn’t wait to eat at Maketto again. The outdoor was well decorated and spaced out. We ordered crystal shrimp dumplings, spring rolls, bone marrow laab, crispy chicken wings and duck noodle soup. Every thing was delicious particularly the duck noodle soup and crispy chicken wings. The portion of the duck noodle soup was large and the duck was crispy. All the ingredients were fresh and high quality. Friendly staff! A must in DC!

While we love all our four-legged/furry friends, animals (besides service animals) are not permitted at Maketto.
Hello, The service charge helps cover pandemic bonus for our small team, cover the expenses of PPE, and on-site COVID tests for our team. I hope that helps you feel like this is one of the safest places to eat in the city. — EBY
