I just booked my December 2021 stay at Green Valley Cottages. I have been vacationing at this special place each year beginning in 2007. I love the quiet beauty of this place - allowing me and my dogs to enjoy nature: the hiking trails, the lake, and glorious stargazing on a clear night! It's so nice to just be able to truly "relax" when I visit. Each cottage offers a guest something unique and I appreciate all the special "touches" the owners add (and update) on a regular basis. There is always something new for me to enjoy regardless of which cottage I reserve or what season it is. Just knowing Green Valley exists, waiting to welcome me back, gets me through the difficult times in my life!

I'm honestly so disappointed with this trip. We stayed in the Francena College for a weekend recently, and it was so much shabbier and dirtier than I imagined it would be for over $250/night. The cottage smelled palpably of dog (spoiler alert: we didn't bring a dog), there was hair in the shower drain, dust on the furniture, and cobwebs all over the walls and ceilings. Upon arrival, we read the provided documents and discovered that we were responsible for laundering our own sheets and towels for the next guest before we left; of course, I don't mind doing that, but I don't love the idea that I just have to trust whoever came before me to do the clean up. I'm not at all certain that the mattress protector ever gets washed, since it had hair and grit on it. Long story short, I spent the first evening there looking for a local hotel and regretting everything. Ultimately, I stuck it out because I spent so (!) much (!) money (!), but wow. What a miserable experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone, for the sheer uncleanliness alone.
