Today my mother was supposed to be discharged before 4pm. I have been waiting since 4pm for her to be allowed to leave and it is already 5:45pm while I’m writing this and I am still waiting for her “hospital mandated” wheelchair ride down to the lobby. While waiting, earlier I found a nurse in a room down the hall relaxing in a patients recliner, practically asleep. Multiple help alerts blinking at the doors and 5 nurses hanging out in the round section of their front desk. I will admit I am quite upset at this point and have already tried getting ahold of a manager on duty for this PH28 north tower floor but apparently weekends are free of managers, so of course it’s a free for all here with staff….This is not our first time here. My mom has stage four colon cancer and has come here for over 15years with her multiple cancers over the past and I can assure you 4-5hour wait for discharge after ‘saying the papers are being prepared now’ is ridiculous for a Saturday where honestly there isn’t much going on. I’ve seen this hospital busy and today looks like a ghost town in comparison. If a manager is reading this. PLEASE reach back out. I would love to give details on this experience for better training purposes, or however companies and facilities like to word it….lol one of the nurses Kassandra just came in giving a funny excuse that she thought my mom wanted to wait for a result before being discharged. Funny thing is, My mom told the doctor at 10am she wished to be discharged without the results. The doctor didn’t put the request in until around 2pm and now apparently never told the nurses or wrote down that we didn’t want the results. So they have had us here for nothing. Mind you, through all this time both she and I have been telling everyone that will listen that we are waiting on the papers…. I don’t understand how this is happening right now…. Will try and get more photos before I leave, should have gotten one of the nurse sleeping as proof lol 🤦♀️ But here is the nurses she had today, unless they didn’t change the writing. Now that I think about it, kassandra wasn’t even assigned to my mom based on the board, so why is she coming up with excuses? Guess it wasn’t updated either.

Most of the Dr.’s here are great but the management could be better….waiting out of main entrance to pick up a patient I was told was being discharged and to head to hospital to retrieve them. Waiting now for 2 1/2 hrs. All the staff is claiming it’s the transport team that is behind. Need to hire more help and NOT allow anyone to wait like this

I want to start by saying the nursing staff is amazing. Besides that, the hospital is a disaster. The people that admit you at the front are the rudest most incompetent people in the world. They still have the same COVID measures as two years ago. It is almost impossible to get in to see my father. We called patient experience I don’t know how many times. We have told them our issue that my father is terminally I’ll, and to allow his direct family to see and be with him 24 hrs a day. They assure us that they will put a note in the system to allow us access and every time we come see him is the same situation. Having to call and fight with I don’t know how many people just to be able to see my father. Very dissatisfied with this hospital. They should really care more about their patient’s well being and just be human beings.

Unfortunately one cannot leave zero stars. There may be an occasional good doctor, but a quarterback cannot win the Super Bowl alone. The reprehensible, untempered and grotesque greed of their administrators makes it difficult, at best, for ancillary staff to care. The most important advice I ever give to anyone is: "Never leave a loved one alone in any hospital." The hospital is the deadliest place in America. This protracted Covid policy is being used by hospitals to escape scrutiny of their services, or lack thereof, from family members. It is often family members that ring the alarm when a hospital commits negligent homicide. The policy, to bar family members from being at bedside, after restrictions have ended, is deliberately used by hospitals to escape the possible consequences of willfully and deliberately failing to implement safety measures for their patients, which cut into their bottom line. Although it is important to note that hospitals are where Covid is. Still... Separating sick loved ones from family, is cruel and in some cases criminal. Don't wait to become a victim. Speak out to end this cruel practice once instituted to protect the public, now used to protect institutions from the consequences of willful negligence.

It a Hospital!! They DON'T rent Room's unless you are a patient. Check the Travel's website for hotels within that Area!!The Airport area has rooms for rent 🤓

Springhill Suits by Marriott, a quick walk to hospital and they also have shuttle buses to hospital. Ask the front desk at hotel for bus schedule. Good luck
