The pine needle covered trail path is so soft and feels nice to walk on. Not many people are here at all. Big fat snake spotted, so traveler be aware.

Excellent hike! Would highly recommend. There's plenty of signage along the trail, so it's near impossible to get lost or directionally confused. Also, @jonnn56 -- The intersection is not dangerous. Just make sure to pay attention and look both ways.

We walked a few trails and had a great time. Once we were able to find the starting point of a trail, they were great to walk around. Only wish they had a few physical maps to carry around while you're out on the trails!

Questions & Answers

The website says the historic grounds are only open on Saturday and Sunday's but can any of the Rustic Trails be used on week days? Also is there parking to use the rustic trails? Thank you.

Thank you for your inquiry. The Highland Rustic Trails are only open when the museum grounds are open to the public. During December the trails are open only on Saturdays and Sundays. The trails will be closed in January and February. Both museum visitors and trails guests may park in our main parking lot. Happy holidays!
