After living here for a year I can say it's not worth it and the cons sadly outweigh the pros for me. The good: - The place is truly beautiful and the amenities are great (some of the best in the area probably). - The apartments are very nice and modern. The bad: - Security has become probably the most concerning aspect and I don't feel safe here. - On an almost bi-weekly basis packages are stolen (people share images of the empty boxes in the mail rooms), cars are broken into in the garage and windows are smashed, storage units get broken into. Management does little about this, and after multiple complaints there's still no security in the mail rooms, which are open to the garage where it's easy to tailgate people. - People from outside have jumped the fence and gotten into the neighborhood, sometimes apparently stealing things. - A neighbor was mugged and attacked by three people when walking at night right between two of the buildings and in front of people's apartments. - Neither the neighbors or staff seem to be entirely welcoming. People complain constantly about their attitude in several occasions, and I can confirm this to be true. - Some buildings have wood in between floors, which makes insulation very bad and the steps from the neighbor (or kids) above become your worst nightmare. - Management is not good. Things break and it takes weeks for them to get fixed. When you pay upwards of 4K per month, this is simply not acceptable. All hot tubs have been broken for close to two weeks now as an example. Elevators are a lottery.

Phew ok where do I start. The good: 1. We had a pretty sweet 7th floor view of the mountain (I said a mountain view in Mountain View when I first moved in) 2. The pools. hot tubs. the terraces. the community garden/catwalk with beautiful sunset views. 3. Convenience of so so many shops and restaurants 4. The unit is beautiful in and of itself. Beautiful appliances. The bad: 1. Gym is meh. It's small, dirty, and there was never enough space to workout without being in someone's way. 2. SOME, not all leasing agents are sooo frustratingly vague and unprofessional to work with. Actually the first time I toured I felt a flair of arrogance from the leasing agent that helped us that day. 3. The overall atmosphere. You know how sometimes you walk into a space and it immediately hits you with good flowing energy, and it's warm fuzzy and welcoming? The Dean is not that. It's something in the air --or maybe in the rent prices-- that makes this place oozing with snobbery. ****It never felt like home!!**** 4. Point number 3 above altogether means I had more bad than good days here. My plants also barely grew (some went into stealth mode and are now thriving again once I moved away) despite having a southwest facing window with tons of light. Might just be my plants needing less light though. Goodbye Dean you won't be missed (I do miss the sunsets but I'd rather have good qi) 🧘🏻♀️✌️

TL;DR - My bike was stolen from inside their secured parking garage. I was assured that my belongings would be safe in the building, they were not. My wife and I spent two months at the Dean through SuiteAmerica. The complex is beautiful, the amenities are top notch, and the apartments are well designed. Bright lights, good finishes, and quite. No noise whatsoever. Two reason why I am giving the Dean two star. 1.Doors can only be opened with the phone app Latch. Latch is horrible. The app requires a connection to be used, but when you are on floor level P1 or P2, there is no wifi or cellular; you are SOL. In one week I spent ten minutes using the app. Think about it, more than a minute a day to open three doors. Just give people keys or fobs. 2. My bike was stolen. The Dean will say that there parking is safe, it isn't. Read the comments, theft is common. The Dean should at least put up a sign that says theft is common and not to leave valuables in the garage. Who knows, maybe they did, and the sign was also stolen.

Here I sit on my balcony at the village residence apartments across the street, lamenting the fact that the advertised 24/7 gym doesn’t open until 7:00 am, my messages to management have been ignored for months, and my packages are stolen every week from the floor of the mail room. I turn my eyes to the heavens and see this glorious double rainbow perfectly accenting The Dean, and I feel it is a sign. Disclaimer: I have never lived at the dean, and don’t know much about it.
