I’ve know Dr Kwon for about 4 years. She is truly the nicest, most sincere person I’ve ever met. I had my first dentist appointment today in her office. From the cleanliness to the efficiency of the staff I was impressed. I am happy I chose her to be new dentist.

I have been going to Kwon & Jabbour for a number of years now. All the people from the front office to the dental assistants and hygienists and the dentists themselves are the nicest and most professional people. They keep up on the latest techniques and so I always feel I'm getting the best advice and care for my teeth.

Good people. Very caring. Always the latest technology and amazing attention to customer service. They make going to the dentist a pleasure, from the front desk to the hygienists and the more involved stuff. I wish that every professional organization I interact with was as well-run as Kwon & Jabbour. Seriously, I have referred my doctor and others to them to go see the amount of love and attention they put into making every aspect of their practice amazing. It quite blows me away.

They are the best. They are such good people. My husband has Dr Kwon and I have Dr Jabbour. I never had such a comprehensive experience. I knew the health of your teeth is important for health in general but I did not really get it until them. I’m confident that I won’t have any future large expenses or problems because everything is addressed at every appointment. Their technology is also the best I’ve seen. Their very organized and efficient. I couldn’t say enough about them. If I had found them when I was younger, I wouldn’t have had to do some of the procedures I ended up having. Don’t hesitate, call them!

Kwon & Jabbour Dental | Sep 3, 2019

Yes we do! It’s no secret that millions of adults are faced with tooth loss every year. Tooth decay, gum disease, or an accidental injury can rob you of the teeth that you tried so hard to protect. Fortunately, in addition to dentures and bridges, our Walnut Creek CA dental implant dentists can rebuild your smile. In fact, whenever it is feasible, dental implants are currently the highest standard in tooth replacement worldwide. In the exact location of a missing tooth, dental implants serve as replacement tooth roots to that are anchored to the bone to provide a strong foundation for permanent or removable replacement teeth that are designed to mimic your own natural teeth. The dental implant process begins with the development of a customized treatment plan. We will assess your needs and, if necessary, enlist the resources of a team of professionals who are specially trained in oral surgery and periodontal therapy. Once your treatment plan has been finalized, a titanium implant post will be placed into the jawbone. During the healing phase, the implant post and the jawbone will become fused together. The strong bond between the implant and the bone will ensure that your new tooth can sustain the forces of chewing and biting. Finally, the implant post will be fitted with a customized restoration such as a porcelain crown, bridge, or denture. The ideal candidate for dental implants is any adult who is healthy enough to tolerate a routine dental extraction or similar surgical procedure. Patients with healthy gums, sufficient bone volume, and a commitment to good oral hygiene can expect the most ideal outcome. For those patients who are heavy smokers, those suffering from uncontrolled health conditions, or patients with a history of bruxism may require additional services to ensure the success of the procedure. dental implants We offer a wide range of customized dental implant solutions including: Single tooth implants Esthetic implants/ zirconia abutments Implant bridges Implant retained dentures/ hybrids With a long-term success rate has consistently hovering near 98%, dental implants are designed to be permanent replacements for your missing teeth. Do you specialize in cosmetic dentistry?

Kwon & Jabbour Dental | Sep 3, 2019
Kwon & Jabbour Dental | Sep 3, 2019

Yes, we do! The goal of cosmetic dentistry is to enhance and transform an ordinary smile into a beautiful one that you will be proud to show off. Every smile is different, and to determine what can be enhanced is the first step in Smile design. A Smile Design is the blueprint of your mouth. As your Walnut Creek CA cosmetic dentists, our Smile Design consultations include photographs, models, bite records and measurements. To achieve ideal facial harmony we take into account: How much of your teeth are visible in your smile Where is the gum line in your smile and how much of it is visible when you smile? Do your teeth follow the contour of your lip? Is the size of each tooth in correct proportion to your face? Do you have dental restorations that are chipped, stained, or unaesthetic? Is the color of your teeth harmonious? Are there missing teeth? Worn teeth? Crowded teeth? Gaps between teeth? Determine Your Goals Before we recommend or begin any treatment, we talk with you about your personal goals for your smile and perform a thorough exam to assess your oral health. It is important that we maintain good function in addition to enhancing beauty. Improving your smile may be as simple as a whitening process, or it may require more involved treatments such as placing veneers, crowns, orthodontics, replacing missing teeth, or gum lifts/grafts. You Can Trust Our Expertise Both Dr.’s Kwon and Jabbour have devoted hundreds of hours of advanced training in cosmetic dentistry and their experience provides you with predictable results that will meet your expectations. Factors such as materials selection, bonding techniques, phasing treatment for tooth movements/gum surgery/implants, are critical in producing the ideal result.

Do your dentists use an Intraoral Camera?

Kwon & Jabbour Dental | Sep 3, 2019
Kwon & Jabbour Dental | Sep 3, 2019

Yes, we do! An intraoral camera is a highly advanced innovation in dentistry that allows us to get a close-up view inside your mouth. The intraoral camera handpiece is approximately the size and shape of a dental mirror. It has a built-in light source, so it gives us clear images of the teeth and gums. We can zoom in on one tooth or zoom out for a view of the entire mouth. The images are displayed on a television or computer monitor, so you will be able to see problems such as worn or broken fillings, cracked teeth, plaque deposits, cavities next to fillings, gum disease, or excessive wear. After we have treated your dental condition, the intraoral camera lets you see, up close, your beautiful, healthy teeth and gums.

Do you do Digital X-Rays?

Kwon & Jabbour Dental | Sep 3, 2019
Kwon & Jabbour Dental | Sep 3, 2019

Yes we do! The advantages of digital radiography are: It’s faster It’s safer, with no chemical development and less radiation We can view images instantly We can enhance images to improve viewing Images can be stored electronically & emailed to specialists & insurance companies Taking x-rays is faster because the sensor is merely moved from tooth to tooth, and your x-ray can be seen on a computer monitor just moments after exposure. There’s no waiting for chemical development, as with film packets. The lack of chemicals also make digital x-rays safer for the environment. Digital radiography is safe for you, too. Because the unit is so sensitive, the amount of x-ray radiation is up to 80% less than with conventional x-rays. Digital x-ray technology enables more efficient diagnosis and treatment because it provides a large, easy to see image, and it allows us to make adjustments and see details in the x-ray images. The digital x-rays can then become part of your dental record and be easily e-mailed to specialists and insurance companies. With digital radiography, we can offer you faster and safer diagnosis and dental treatment.

How do you diagnose cavities?

Kwon & Jabbour Dental | Sep 3, 2019
Kwon & Jabbour Dental | Sep 3, 2019

Sometimes, it’s difficult for us to diagnose cavities, especially in the pits and grooves on the biting surfaces of your back teeth. The traditional way to check for cavities was by looking for visual signs of decay on the tooth, checking x-rays, or feeling for a soft area with a dental explorer. However, we now have a diagnostic tool called DiagnoDent® that helps us more accurately locate early cavities. DiagnoDent® is a laser technology that scans your teeth with harmless pulses of light. When a cavity is present, fluorescent light of a different wavelength bounces back to the sensor, which is translated to a digital read-out. In general, the higher the number, the greater the amount of decay in the tooth. When a cavity is present DiagnoDent also produces an audible signal. You’ll benefit from our use of the DiagnoDent® because it helps us find decay that may have previously gone undetected. By diagnosing decay early in its development, we can prevent more extensive damage. Your restorations will be smaller and less costly, and you’ll be able to retain more of your own natural, healthy tooth.

What Night Guards and Appliances do you offer at your dental clinic?

Kwon & Jabbour Dental | Sep 3, 2019
Kwon & Jabbour Dental | Sep 3, 2019

For conditions related to the health of your jaw joint, your occlusion, or the protection of your teeth, we may suggest one of the following appliances: Night guard– This custom-made mouthpiece is designed to fit over the upper teeth or lower teeth to prevent the teeth from grinding together. It also prevents the muscles of the jaw joint from becoming engaged, a leading cause of headaches and TMJ pain. Deprogrammer –This removable appliance resembles an orthodontic retainer and is used to aid in the diagnosis of a TMJ or bite-related problem. This appliance is also used to stabilize and evaluate your bite prior to beginning complex restorative procedures. Sports guard– A professionally-designed athletic mouth guard prevents the teeth from clenching and allows the jaw muscles o relax during strenuous exercise in both contact and non-contact sports. There are a number of over-the-counter night guards and other oral appliances available at drugstores and specialty outlets. Since these products are not customized, they may or may not be effective for you. By seeking a professional evaluation, your symptoms can be properly diagnosed and the appropriate appliance can be designed exclusively for you.

The condition is often mistaken for an ear ache or dismissed as a “normal” symptom of daily stress. Most patients experience an increase in their TMJ/TMD symptoms is response to physical or emotional stress. Habits such as clenching or grinding of the teeth can overwork the muscles that control the jaw. Since this occurs most frequently at night, most patients find it difficult or impossible to control. The appropriate treatment for TMJ/TMD can vary depending on your lifestyle habits, the severity of the condition, and the health of your bite and jaw joints. Typically, prevention is the best solution for most patients. This may include avoiding chewing gums and foods that are difficult to chew.
