Exquisite service and menu! Giuseppe and his entire family are there every day running the kitchen, managing the front, and waiting tables to ensure quality and, well....because it's just how much they love their restaurant! As someone who travels to Italy, 2-3 times per year, I'd say Trabocco delivers the most authentic Italian dining experience I've ever had in the US. Drink tip: ask if they'll make a "Spritzmouthe" for your apertivo

Nice Italian (or better American-Italian) restaurant in Alameda. It is located in an open shopping center and it was very crowded when we arrived for dinner. Reservation is required unless you are ok with eating late (Americans usually eat early, or at least per European standards). It is a very standard menu for Italian restaurants in the Bay Area. Appetizers where great. We had carpaticcio and octopus. Both were really good even if octopus appetizer was more potato then octopus. I had salad with pears and gorgonzola. It was really good except gorgonzola was really missing in action. Main dishes very mainly disappointment. They were ok, but nothing really special. The desert was good according to my family. Portions were decent and prices were inline with restaurant inflation this days in Bay Area. In one world: Ok.

An Italian delight for our dinner date night. We couldn't reserve a table but they still were able to accommodate us in a kind way. Service was friendly and attentive to detail. The welcoming fresh bread served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar is a treat (yes, more, please!!!). Everything we ordered was perfect, tasty and well seasoned. We hardly ever go for desserts, but this time we did and so glad we did. Go!

So happy to see some authentic Italian food like what I had in Italy. I was so excited to see the octopus and potato appetizer which was my favorite dish in Italy. I shared the meal family style with a couple friends and everything was delicious. The porchetta was a special and we wish the outside was crispy but it was still super tasty. The risotto was so creamy and the seafood pasta was a nice mix of seafood.

Yes, there is a private dining room that can accommodate up to 18 guests. The patio dining room can also be booked for private events for up to 50 guests.
No, unfortunately, not that I know of, but they have gluten free pasta, (but not gluten free bread) and Gisseppi (or however you spell his name), the owner, is quite accomadating if you mention it to him. (Long beard). They have a gluten free appetizer (worth getting instead of main course), which is to die for, called Caprese (or Caprese salad (not sure its exact title).
We do not allow pets at the restaurant, but of course are happy to accommodate service dogs, as defined by the ADA. The ADA specifically excludes emotional support/comfort animals from their definition of service animals. You were not asked what your disability is, you were asked what service your animal is trained to provide, which we are legally allowed to ask.
