We have stayed with Mt Hood Vacation rentals about 10 times over the course of the past fifteen years. They have a huge variety of properties from sweet little ski condo apartments to large homes able to fit our extended family (and with two dishwashers!). While each of the properties are unique a few things have been consistent throughout each stay: the homes are clean and well stocked with home and cooking supplies, and the service from staff has always been excellent! We are loyal customers and can’t wait to book our next stay!

We had a wonderful time for my girlfriends birthday. The cottage was beautifully cleaned and set up the hot tub was wonderful the view of the Sandy River and the fire pit set a great mood for our time there. This company is Lovely I’ve rented from them before and I always had a good experience.

This place was really perfect! 5/5 We stayed at the Bear Den Log Cabin. It was exactly what we were looking for - the log cabin experience. The team at MHVR was very communicative and helpful. Everything was ready for us, and the place was immaculately clean! Not a speck of dust anywhere. I was expecting some remnants from past guests or their dogs, but there was none! We were also pleasantly surprised by the babbling creek that runs directly behind the cabin off the back deck. It would have been so peaceful if the weather allowed. A couple things to note, that did not take much away from the experience. We arrived at night, and this place is DARK. The house was lit up just fine (all the lights were on) but the yard and driveway were almost pitch black. It was somewhat tricky to see the driveway, and unloading the car was a challenge. Just something to be aware of - bring a flashlight. Also, directly in front of the front steps is a big puddle of mud, be careful.

We had a major mishap on our vacation. A huge storm knocked out the power to the cabin and we were unable to check in. The management company communicated well and moved us to another cabin and compensated us for the lost time. The did all this without any bargaining. Every communication I had with them was pleasant and helpful. They did everything they could to make us comfortable and the cabin itself, Forest Lodge, was impressive. I will be renting this lodge again. PS- There's a large step down on the patio deck that's hard to see. Someone fell down, but was not hurt. This step should be marked or lit somehow as it's nearly invisible at night.

Hi Maribelle - The rates vary depending upon the size of the home, the number of guests and if you bring a dog. If you can share more info about your trip, I can give you a more specific answer. We are here 7 days a week if you would like to call and speak with a Vacation Planner. Here is a general overview: if you visit during the 3rd week of July, the nightly rates start at $158/night for 2 people in a 1-bedroom and top out at $908/night for 16 guests in a 4200 sq foot home with 5 bedrooms. Also, if you stay 6 nights, you can add a 7th night for free.

One of our most commonly asked questions this time of year is "Will I need chains to get to my vacation rental?"

During the winter months (and for Mt Hood this could stretch into April), you should always be prepared for winter weather including snow and ice on the roads. Oregon requires that you have at minimum chains or traction tires (to be legal, the tires need to have the little snowflake icon on them). Weather conditions change daily, so if you call us the day before your check in, we are happy to give you an updated conditions report.
