Honestly.. it was an awful trip. The wind was too crazy, which was addressed before our charter but should have been canceled decision made by the captain. Couldn’t go for what we booked for. You aren’t the ones fishing, his grandchildren are and you just reel the fish in. Kept going in circles with little to no luck. Overall his grandkids seemed bored and were all on their phones the whole time rather than trying to get us fish. I wouldn’t go back. Waste of money and no sort of compensation was ever considered. Very disappointed because I love fishing.

My brother has had some successful trips with these guys! We took a fishing vacation With this charter. It seemed like the fish were also on vacation though... but thats just how fishing can be! We had a good boat ride and caught some fish.

I am here to defend bigfish charters on the review made by Alanzo Ford. He claims the service was absolutely horrible yet he forgot to mention they caught the limit of haddock in less than three hours (120 fish). Captain Tom then brought them tuna fishing for the rest of the day. While the mates worked hard to clean the fish. (Anyone with even the slightest knowledge of Bluefin Tuna fishing should know there is NEVER any guarantee of getting a bite, let alone landing one). Alanzo refused to understand that there would not be any refund given to them for not producing a bluefin tuna. Therefore him and his group made the decision to stiff the mates, and not give them any tip at all. (Even after they cleaned 120 haddock). Because no tip was given to the mates Captain Tom made the decision to claim the Captain and mate portion of the haddock. Still sending the customers home with their designated limit of 90 haddock.

The service was absolutely horrible. We went out for half day tuna and half day haddock. Didn’t get any tuna and captain would not give courtesy on price. Then proceeded to keep the fish that were ours. I would never go there again and would not recommend to anyone.

He used to work for Big Fish as a first mate.

What do you charge to rent the boat for a party of 5 or 6 people?

From the owner: For 6 people the charter costs $1,495.00 plus a 15 to 20% tip for the mate. For 5 people it can go two ways: If it is on a Monday thru Thursday, they can go as a "Mixed-party trip" and pay $295.00 each ($295 plus a $45 tip) but then I am allowed to get another person to fill the 6th place (6 person max on charters). If the 5 people ( or even 1 or 2) want a Friday thru Sunday or they don't want any other people on the boat, then they pay$1,495 plus a tip.
