Was very happy with NJ Oil Tank Sweep when we did an inspection on a house we were interested a month ago. Very professional, excellent communication, and right on time. Will definitely use them again if we require a similar service in the future, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing their services.

The service, communication, and people of this company are fantastic. Within moments of submitting an online inquiry I received a text with additional information and almost instantly a scheduled appointment. When an issue arose with the company's schedule, they did everything they could and managed to keep our appointment time which was so greatly appreciated! The service day-of was quick, easy, and our technician was lovely.

Cindy was great and very helpful assisting me to the next available appointment. We are able to meeting our technician Rob next day and thoroughly scan the property with both metal sweep and sonar. It really give us a peace of mind with the purchase, taking the stress away from us.

Great experience. Everyone I spoke with on the phone was so nice. Joe came out to the property in the midst of multiple inspections and just worked around to do exactly what we needed. Great deal as well. I wasn’t aware our inspectors also perform tank sweeps, but he let me know I got a good deal! Thank you again for your professionalism!

When purchasing or selling a home, having an oil tank sweep performed is imperative to insuring your property is clear of any potential environmental hazards. The EPA has estimated that there are over 100,000 unknown or undiscovered Under Ground Storage Tanks (USTs) located in New Jersey alone. Half of all oil tanks removed have holes and require environmental cleanup, this is a major expense if you purchase a home in NJ without knowledge of what lies beneath your property. When purchasing a property you are buying what is above as well as what is below the ground and all liability transfers to the new owner. A thorough oil tank scan can insure the buyer against possibly very costly removal and remediation in the future.
We have over 20 years experience in subsurface investigation. Unlike our competitors, our technicians all carry Ground Penetrating Radar, two industry standard methods of metal detection for cross referencing, as well as industry leading induction equipment (locating equipment capable of tracing copper product lines, vent and fill pipes). We are fully insured not just in General Liability but also in Environmental and Error and Omission protecting our clients and removing any liability from them.
Ground-penetrating radar is a geophysical method that uses radar pulses to image the subsurface. This non-destructive method allows us to detect underground utilities and storage tanks with a non-invasive approach. GPR is used when there are limitations with standard metal detection. For example wire mesh or rebar reinforced concrete, sidewalks, driveways and patios.
YES. We carry 2 million in error and omission policy as well as 2 million in environmental and general liability. Fully guaranteeing our scan and insuring the client against any liability.
We offer industry leading flat rate fee of $225 for standard metal detection and $399 for Ground penetrating radar. ( mileage charges may apply for sites located outside of a 30 mile range)
