Great Physician actually took the time to read my old reports and was first Dr to explain all the problems I have with my back! Couldn't ask for a better place 5 stars all the way!

I would have have Paincare 5 Stars if it was not for the past few months since Dr.Conden left. After his departure, I was informed I was being moved to another building, to another Dr. Who was supposedly going to start tapering down my medications!?!? What! I was never informed of this or have broken a single rule, never a dirty urine. I believe I am one of the longest patients at this center, 9 years, who actually refused opiate meds, personally gave up break thru meds and settled for just one med that has absolutely changed my quality of life for the better. My new Dr. was female, possibly Russian decent who was NASTY. She treated me as if I was a drug seeker when I was honest and open with her when I told her my non-opiod meds were a day short and I had no idea why at which time she stated I had to wear a patch! Today, I am seeing Dr.Condons replacement. I hope things settle down, if so, I'll update this review. I will say, I love everyone there up to a month ago and I honestly believe that the Dr I just saw, prior to Mazur, has zero place in their practice. For the record, I never leave a review, second ever written, so I hope the owners really revisit what's going on. I know they deal with some patients who are just out for good times and are probably not the greatest- that's not who I am and I hope today is the day I fall back in love with the practice Update: October 2019- BEWARE OF URINE SCAMS here. Today, I went to my scheduled appointment to see my NEW doctor “O’Connell. I have been a patient here for more than 7 years and have cycled thru doctors for the past 2 years. The appointment started off normal. I went in and saw my regular nurse for vitals and was brought to a room where I was waiting for my doctor. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor just 4 months ago and if there was a time I needed this places services- it was now. The doctor walks in my room and immediately tells me we have a problem. I looked at him puzzled and asked what the problem was. The doctor went on a rant telling me A: my urine was positive for cocaine, B:The DEA was going to think I sold my medicine for drugs and if I did not agree to weekly, out-of-pocket, urine screenings then he was going to discharge me. For starters, I don’t do drugs and I already didn’t feel so good taking this necessary medication or even being a client of this practice. I demanded they re-test and he refused. He stated that there was no doubt. To be frank, I think they just wanted additional money. A big scam. Thank God for BIDMC where I found several “SPECIALIST” who cared for me after I told them my experience. They wanted to report the doctor to the Medical Board as you need to care for the patient until they find an alternative- they didn’t. Beware of this place. One day things are fine, you will never keep a doctor here and are so short handed that they even mislabeled a urine. Now that I found care elsewhere you come to realize why this place is watched by the DEA.

My orthopedist treated me for two years after spine surgery with increasing doses of oxycodone for my back pain. We felt it was time to wean off and he referred me to Granite State Pain. Lovely people there. Dr Doherty developed a reasonably slow wean, helped me with several quite easy injections and I was off the oxy within 6 or 7 months. He referred me to the addiction treatment facility next door for follow up care. Special people both offices. Know their stuff".

00000 stars all the way. The Merrimack clinic is down right awful. I have been with this clinic for 4 years. This past year I have seen GREAT staff leave. Staff that left were the ones who made this practice a place I looked forward to going to. I notice a change in staff demeanor in February when one of the girls left. Then again in June when another girl left the atmosphere in the building changed. Since all these changes have taken place I do not look forward to my office visit. Everyone is unhappy here. No one is personable or friendly any longer. My provider has changed his schedule and it is harder to get in there now. I miss how Pain Care was a year ago.

Questions & Answers

Does Granite state pain clinic prescribe opioid pain medicine that cannot be helped any other treatment. I refuse shots and any form of surgery? I have no disc in bottom of back.

Yes

Missing disc in bottom of tailbone. Watched my husband go through all avenues to try and manage his back pain with no success. I do not want to go through any of it. Do you put people on a lot in medication regimen and monitor them?
