It is difficult to comprehend what happened to millions of Jews throughout the war. We must all work together to remember and achieve world peace.

Unbelievably moving. Take your time walking through it, don't let anyone rush you. It is an experience everyone should have.

The memorial is somewhat small but very tasteful. I really appreciated that it is set in such a public place and alongside the Freedom Trail. Our tour included it as a special stop even though it is not an official part of the Trail.

It was actually built almost 25 years ago, not within the last five years as someone else suggested. The memorial was erected in 1995, designed by Stanley Staitowitz and founded by Stephan Ross, an Holocaust survivor.

It's supposed to show how they felt when they were locked in the gas chamber. If you don't remember, in the Concentration camps if by some reason they think they do not need more of the "slaves", they will take them to a small room to kill them all using mustard gas. Many innocent people died that way and we should never forget about our humans mistakes.

What is holocaust actually mean?

It (according to Wikipedia) is destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially caused by fire or nuclear war. Historically speaking it is a Jewish sacrifice that is completely burned on an alter. In terms of the Holocaust in reference to Germany it is the period when Adolf Hitler made an attempt to create the perfect race and along the way attempted to kill all Jews. Does that answer your question at all? If not please let me know so I can be of more help as the question wasn't super clear! 🙂

What is the entire poem at the base that reads, "They came for the Jews, and I was not a Jew " Please and thank you.💟

They came first for the communist/socialist (seen both terms used it's communist on the stone both are used in the original longer form prose), and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a...., Then they came for the unionists....(repeat) Then they came for the Jews (Repeat) Then they came for me- and there was no one to speak for me. _ Martin Niemoeller
