We are so happy with our solar panels and Florida Power Services "The Solar Power Company". Our installation was completed in October of last year and we have not had an electric bill since. This is a common question with many answers, I would say the added value would be the net cost of the system after the tax credit. There are other studies that suggest a $20 increase in property value for each dollar saved in electric costs. At the end of the day its only worth what the next buyer is willing to pay. The Federal Tax Credit is the largest incentive availible on the purchase of a solar power system, until December 31st 2019 the credit is good for 30% (or example $27,000 system X 30% would give you a tax credit vauled at $8,100). The Sunshine State is also showing their support for the adoption of cleaner energy sources by exempting your purchase from sales tax (an estimated savings of $1,890 on the above $27,000 example).
It all starts with your power consuption from the grid, calculating your annual kWh usage is step one. The easiest way to do this is to look at monthly usgae graph on your power bill, take the highest, mid, and lowest months, average them out, and multiple by 365.
