We tried to go there last week July, 2022 and they have raised the entrance fee to $40 per car for non-residents of Weare. Perhaps too many non-residents were willing to pay the $20. But $40 is ridiculous for something this simple, even without a lifeguard for swimming. The park looked fairly empty. Guess that's how they like it. It costs $10 per car for Weare residents. There is no lifeguard on duty, and they do not treat the water in the swimming area. Considering this, what expense is there to running the park? They have a basic restroom, that's all.

We come here occasionally as we live on the lake, the lake itself is very clean and fantastic swimming as it warms up quickly in season. The beach itself is clean and good sand but it is PACKED during the summer no matter what day or time and there really isn't enough beach space for as many people as parking allows. It's also pay per day or buy a seasons pass even if you are a Weare resident which still allows for first come first serve parking during the summer so you may or may not get in. Additionally your parking and boat passes are separate which will run about $30 total. They also require each vehicle having its own sticker rather than sharing which will cost you another $2. Boat passes are $20 for residents even if you live on the lake and need to use the public launch to get your boat to your home. All around it's an ok park but will add up money wise quickly. The park is also only equipped with a port-o-potty.
