I took both my dogs here last week for a grooming and specifically asked that they not cut the nails on one of my dogs. He gets very nervous about people touching his paws and I’ve been working with him almost daily to grind his nails with lots of rewards involved to help him get over that fear. Because of that, his nails were already pretty short anyway. When I brought my dogs home the one seemed a little nervous and didn’t want to walk or jump into the backseat. I thought it was because he was tired. When I got home I noticed blood all over my couch where my dog was. They had quicked him badly even after I specifically requested they not touch his nails. Poor thing was in pain. I inspected the rest of his nails to find deep grooves in about four of them meaning they tried to cut other nails and he probably jolted his leg away before they could clamp down. His nails are black, so it’s difficult to see the quick and I can’t imagine how much more pain he would’ve been in had they actually been successful. I called the groomer to ask what happened and was treated very nonchalantly by the man who answered the phone. He offered to have me come back so they could put some quick stop powder on my dog’s nails. Why I would ever let them touch my dog again is beyond me. Besides, I keep the powder at home for emergencies anyway and applied it myself. The man said he would talk to the groomer (who I think is also the owner) about what happened. It’s been a week and I never received a call back. Obviously there is nothing they can do about it now, but I think it’s very unprofessional to not even call and address the issue considering they hurt my dog. They have definitely lost my business and I would never recommend them to anyone else.
