I hope the $20 you hustled me for are worth this review. First, staff member offered helping me out with my flat and said nothing about extra charge or labor fees, so I assumed it was just a friendly gesture, then he proceeded to charging me $20 for 2 minutes of work that I would have done myself. Shady tactics and greedy staff. Enjoy the $20.

This was one of the best bike rental experiences I've ever had. First of all, I would recommend anyone to come out here to rent as opposed to renting right in Edgartown near the Ferry landings. The bikes here were all basically brand new Trek bikes, which made the ride extremely easy. $30 for all day rental, which is cheaper than most vacation rentals I've come across. Lastly, the staff was super friendly and helpful - they even gave us a map of the island so we could identify the bike path we wanted to take!

I have always ridden my road bike on the island, quite extensively over the past decade. This year, I decided to try some trail riding. I rode down the paved bike path from West Chop to the shop, hoping to get some information about single track riding options. Even though I made a purchase at the shop, the staff behind the counter offered no useful information about trails in the area. The staff outside at the rental counter were much more helpful, even though they didn’t have a lot to offer in the way of information. They did pull out a map and gave some pointers as to wher I could look for more information. They also suggested that I ask the guy inside since he was the mountain biker on staff. I told them he was less than helpful. The rental staff helped me get air for my tires, were very pleasant, and doing a great job, in contrast to the staff inside the shop. The irony is, I found some lovely single track, not even 2 miles from the shop, off of beach road. A little direction from the staff inside the shop would have made this a much better review.

FAVORITE SHOP ON ISLAND!!!! I manage Verde Valley Bicycle Company in Cottonwood, Arizona and I absolutely loved going to this shop. Jon Malone was quite the cool dude to talk to and pick the brain of as he has much experience riding on the island. His shop is not uppety or pretentious and they are happy to help any biker in need! Nothing but the best things to say about this place. Well done Jon, love your crew and love the idea of THE KRAKEN, hopefully Ill see you guys in the fall :) Nothing but the best wishes guys!

When we are back open, we will be implementing a new system for people that want to schedule sales and repair times. There will be more of a line system implemented for drop-in customers. This will help keep the right amount of people in the shop at one time and provide them with better customer service. And of course mask wearing. Those are just a few things that we're doing to be in alignment with todays general practices. Check our website soon for new sign up system!
