I lived here and got put out because I asked if someone left clean clothes in the dryer. The lady Christine, who is the director, is very picking with who she allows in the Shelter. I was sent here by a nice lady that runs a day program for homeless to eat, take a shower, and wash their clothes. The staff as well as volunteers are wonderful but Christine is not nice. Be aware because they are supposed to help with the money they received from people that donate and they use it for whatever they want. The bathrooms can use an update for one of them have black mode running through it. It's on the women's side. They say they will help but I had lost my job due to Christine and she never reached out to my job about the quarantine that she had placed on us. She plays favor with people and only uses the resources to help who she wants to help out. She threw me out on the streets because I was being nice, I didn't have any write-ups, I was working, and I did my chores. So, she had no reason but for the reason of her not liking me. I say this to the people that donate money to them, make them give you a report on who they actually helped with that money or how they used it, because I didn't have no where to go on a Saturday morning and they threw me out with no where to go. They run the shelter for their own gain and they have not helped people find a place or get a place to stay. I am one of them. So, to all the people that donate large amounts of money to them, make them give you a report on who they help because she sure didn't help me, she threw me out to be homeless all over again. Thank God for people with hearts because I would have been staying in the streets if someone didn't see what had happened to me. Christine is also known to be racist for she will throw anyone of color out or lie and tell them that they don't have a bed.

Staff was super sweet. I just dropped off baby formula, so I didn't get to stay long.

After reading these reviews I'll be giving my gently used things to salvation army. I wanted to help the homeless but if their own staff are taking the donations and not giving it to the people in need???? Wow! Sick just sick!!!

Wow. Very sad to hear that staff helps themselves first to donations. I wanted to drop off bags of clothes and electronics to Rescue Outreach, in lieu of Goodwill, but these reviews are depressing. Sounds like you need to clean house and get new staff. It seems your current staff has become too comfortable in taking advantage of others.

There should be someone around 8:00am. Do u have transportation to get here? If not, u can call and ask. Mondays are busy at the shelter
Stay in my home I hate people being homeless I got like 2 more moths before I'm homeless why not help someone for few months
Yeah usually take a few months to even get in. You'll be on a list just like every shelter. unfortunately.
If you are under 21 you need to look up the Covenant House. It's a very nice shelter for kids under 21 & they will help you.
I would say call them, But, They have cots for over flow ! As far as friendly company the staff aren't friendly they portray to for a check sake, There's mold in the client's bathroom, the food is out dated in the freezer, staff steals donations!
Cone up here. They never answer the phone.. smh. If they have space, it isn't hard to get it. They do not help you get on your feet. They dont help with childcare, bus passes, finding work, or anything else. They feet you lunch and dinner every day and give you a bed to sleep in. You have to be out of the building from 7am-3:30pm monday-friday
Awesome people. Amazing staff. Super duper great chef... Even better facility. Gives you a chance when you feel hopeless. Love these people so much.
Great question. I am not sure. They shouldn't. But I've never seen ant pets there whatsoever. You can always call and ask. They should be able to accommodate a service animal, but again, I am not sure.
The shelter is good to have a place to sleep and shower and That's about it. Food and staff suck
They do serve lunch and dinner for the community
They have a budget for the food and other stuff from the government but some people who don't know what they are doing still interested in giving them stuff for the houses. They really don't need anything they also have a donation of money but they just throw away the food that is giving them if is too much for them.
There's also a (slight) chance they'd take you in and put you on a cott until administration can assign you a bunk
There's no cost & you can save up for a little bit to move out.
A member of staff said they can't help with transportation but the best time to come is in the morning. Before 9 is best as there is sometimes a line.
They are bad about answering the phone they are understaffed and they have volunteers a lot of times they don't call back on your messages your best to come down here and talk to them in person between 9 and 3 you should get a bed that day
Is your cousin a male or female?
If yu call before 9 nobody will answer
I think they do give out food just not sure what time and I believe the shelter is open during the day
Yes they will they have housing program also I currently reside there
