Great parking area and easy to follow trails. Blazes are clearly displayed and some areas were off limits due to wildlife protections. There were some beautiful river beach areas for nice views and the trails were not all flat like most trails in this area. An easy hike for beginners or for a family.

Beautiful trails for both hiking and biking. There are breathtaking views of the Maurice River from elevated bluffs to river level beaches. Bird watchers, bring your binoculars because there is a lot to see. There are scattered benches and picnic tables throughout to rest and relax. Wear comfortable and sturdy footwear as there are several sets of stairs to climb. Just an FYI, this is an environmentally sensitive area, and there are certain types of birds that nest in areas where the trails run. Part of the Blue trail is closed from January 1st through July 31st. There are more than enough trails to compensate for this closure. If you like to mountain bike, you're going to love this place. I would suggest arriving early, as this place gets quite busy on any given weekend. Lots to see and well worth the trip.

Cool place to check out. I've seen some real bluffs in my time (from living in upstate New York), but this is just as cool. The walking trails are short, but they go deeper into the woods when you're on different colors. The bike trail is about 6.5 miles long, but do yourself a favor and bring a mountain bike. I rode my beach cruiser one day and it was a scary time haha. If you do happen to go off trail, there's a chance you can find some skeletons of animals.

Absolutely an amazing place to really submerge yourself in nature and get a great hike in. Many different trails (blue beginners, Red/Yellow Advanced). There are many amounts of steps and steep hills, this park isn't for anyone with …

Yes. There are several areas that have picnic tables along different trails. There's a map when you 1st enter from the parking lot that shows which trails to follow to get to the tables.
True, no fires allowed!
Not sure but my dad is 71 and it was on way back when
Many relics from the last can be observed along the trail system. Including an old stone homestead from the late 1700’s, huge grain storage structures, internal railway foundations, and many pilings from the sand mining barges.
Yes
YES! off the dock occasionally you can catch white perch there
No hunting. But they have a bird blind for viewing and 6 miles of some pretty cool mtn bike trails
If you take the outer portions of all the loop trails it's at least 5 miles. There are a lot of up and downs on the trails so a very good work out. Definitely worth the trip.
They sneak out there often from laurel lake!!
When hiking, if you stay in the center if the trail there is a good chance the ticks won't find you. Always check yourself thoroughly after the hike to be on the safe side. Please don't let fear of ticks ever prevent you from getting out and enjoying nature 🌳
