Yes. It can happen. Some medications cause this condition. It can also be a result of being nervous. The test will probably take longer to complete
Each mouth swab test takes just a few minutes. Even more time saving is the fact that employees aren't traveling to and from the restroom.
That's standard procedure when drug tests are handled at a laboratory. If the first test result is positive, the specimen is sent on for a 2nd test. It identifies the drug and the level that's contained in the body.
It's possible. THC gets extracted from the plants along with CBD. There isn't any regulation in place for CBD products so oftentimes the extraction process collects high levels of THC as well. It's also possible for THC levels to build up within the body over time depending on usage.
If the DOT mandates them to drug test, they have no choice in the matter. But, even if they employ the general public, the majority of employers plan to keep marijuana on the test panel because a stoned employee is a risk to themselves and others.
Yes, you can. For instance, lots of employers reserve using the blood test for post accident situations as they can detect current impairment. And, even though the DOT only requires a urine test, many trucking companies are implementing the hair follicle test as well for reasons such as there's no way to falsify the test and it identifies drug use for the past 90 days.
It's true that they've requested to switch from the urine drug test to the hair follicle drug test. However, it hasn't reveived final approval yet.
Yes, it is. There are a number of reasons that a drug test can yield a false positive result. It's up to a Medical Review Officers (MRO) to determine if a prescription, over the counter medication, or another source may have affected the results.
A DOT-like drug test is made up of the same 5 panels that the Department of Transportation uses. The test identifies amphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, PCP, and opiates.
Yes, it is. Kratom isn't listed on the DEA's list of controlled substances, but it has been listed as a "drug of concern." It's a dangerous drug which is, unfortunately, legally sold in the United States.
There are a few determining factors in how long it takes to receive the results. Negative test results can be obtained in about 24 hours. Should the initial test show a positive result, the specimen goes on for further testing. Depending on the type of drug test used, the results can take a few days up to a week.
You are perfectly welcome to contact our office to schedule a COVID test for yourself or your family.
No, it won't. Your technician will be sensitive to the issue and collect the specimen from several areas of the head if necessary.
Yes, you can. Just give us a call to set something up. (800) 851-2021
No.
All drug tests are highly accurate. However, the urine drug test can raise concerns because it requires privacy to submit a specimen. For that reason, it's possible for someone to tamper with or substitue the specimen entirely before it is given to the test administrator.
Yes, a number of over counter medications could cause you to pop positive on a drug test. Some cough medicines, such as Robitussin, can cause a positive result for opiates and PCP. Sudafed can cause a positive amphetamine or meth result. Diltiazem is used to treat high blood pressure and can cause a false positive for LSD. If you regularly take over the counter medications, it's wise to do a search to see if they may trigger a positive drug test result just to be on the safe side.
Drugs show up in a saliva sample within 30-60 minutes after use. However, it's not possible to tell if the person is currently impaired or if the test is detecting drug metabolites.
They aren't included on our "common" test panels, but we can add a panel for synthetic marijuana or other "speciality" drugs at your request.
Nope. "They" probably aren't considering that your body is constantly producing saliva. The swab remains in place until it's saturated with it so...
Yes. There are a few companies that are close to getting a marijuana breathalyzer on the market. They will detect current impairment.
It depends on the testing method your employer uses. The hair follicle test yields results for 90 days, up to 30 for the urine test, and the mouth swab test up to 72 hours. Detection times vary depending on the drug for urine and mouth swab but the hair test shows all drug use for 90 days.
Currently, there are about a dozen states that have some protections for employees' off-duty use with a valid prescription for marijuana use. You should find out what the laws are in your state to know for sure.
Employers choose the 5 panel test most often because it's the most cost-effective drug test on the market. It tests for 5 commonly used drugs that are often discovered in the workplace. They are amphetamines/methamphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, PCP, and opiates.
Yes, indeed! Our units are ready to hit the road 24/7. Your employees will no longer have to disrupt their sleep patterns to show up at a testing facility during normal business hours.
We'd recommend that you don't use drugs.
No. Drug metabolites in the saliva are detectable whether or not someone has recently had anything to eat or drink.
It doesn't show up on a standard marijuana test, but K2 can be identified when an employer requests that it be added to the test.
Technically, yes. Even if marijuana is removed from the list of controlled substances, it's still going to effect the user. If someone is under the influence at work, they're at higher risk of being involved in an accident. It's at the employer's discretion whether or not to test for marijuana.
Not since January 2018 when the the DOT added the semi-synthetic opioid panel to their employee drug test.
Technically, yes. The drug metabolites grow out into the center of the hair shaft and they're there for good. However, the standard testing method requires that only 1 1/2 inches of hair be used which limits the detection period to 90 days.
Yes, they do, but the test results aren't admissible in court. If an employee tests positive for drug use, we suggest that you send the test sample to a lab for confirmation. You'll also want to update your drug testing policies to reflect any changes that you make to procedure.
Yes, unless regulated by the DOT or prohibited by state drug testing laws, you are free to use any or all drug testing methods. Make sure your written policies reflect the drug test that will be used.
No. The random drug test list is generated by specific software that contains a pool of all employees' names who work at the company. If your company uses a drug testing company, they're usually responsible for creating the list as well. Research shows that how often someone's name comes up truly is just the "luck of the draw."
The DOT currently requires all safety sensitive employees to take a urine test. While it's true that the HHS approved the oral fluids drug test, the DOT hasn't released any information saying they will be incorporating the test into their drug testing procedures. They will begin using the hair follicle test as soon as final approval is received on their request to do so.
That can be said to be true. Drug metabolites grow out into the hair and actually become part of the hair shaft. The length of hair used for a drug test, however, only goes back three months.
A properly collected saliva sample will contain metabolites of most drugs for up to 48 hours.
An inconclusive result means that neither a positive or negative result could be determined. The test will have to be retaken.
Actually, we have a don’t for you. Don’t drink excessive amounts of fluid before you go! It could dilute your specimen so that an inconclusive result is received. We're not sure what will happen tomorrow, but in the future telling someone about your shy bladder condition might be a better plan. Perhaps they already have an alternate means in place just for this situation. Some employers do!
You will likely lose your job.
Yes. If you're employer tests for Ecstasy, it's going to show up.
It depends on the number of drugs they test for, most urine drug tests start around $30 and increase from there. And, we're not sure if you're an employee or a business owner, however, usually, the employer assumes the cost of any drug testing.
We offer customized drug testing programs for all employers. We’ll gladly handle your program leaving you free to handle other aspects of the business. We offer DOT drug testing, of course, but also offer 5 panel, 9 panel, customized panels, and more! Call us if you'd like to discuss your options. (813) 513-7802
