I canceled my membership at Brooklawn Planet Fitness today. My main issue is they removed half of the equipment from the 30 minute workout area - the only area I use. Serena at the front desk smilingly told me they ordered new equipment but it is back ordered and they do not know when it will come in. I asked Serena to freeze my account and to please call me once the new equipment came in. She smilingly said she would freeze my account but she would not call me once the equipment came in because she does not make “personal calls” to members and that I should call in once a week to see if the new equipment had arrived. I explained to Serena that this would be a business call and not a personal call but she smilingly told me that no one would be willing to call me once the equipment came in. I asked her to just please cancel the account. In addition, they also charged me an annual fee while my account was frozen during the covid lock-down (and smilingly refused to reverse the fee) and also misled members for months by claiming their covid reduced hours were “temporary” and then after months changed the reduced hours to permanent. The music is awful and people come in to the 30 minute workout area and just sit on the equipment watching TikTok videos. It is a cheap gym and I would like to say you get what you pay for but really this place manages to give much less (missing equipment, annual fees on frozen account during lock-down, and reduced hours after stringing you along for months and months, and completely unhelpful smiling workers).
Pork Chop
Very crowded with younger kids from 3 pm to 8 pm..only 4 bench press machines and there always taken.. but for 11 dollars a month plus other yearly fees of 55 dollars and 42 dollars not bad..

I am not a fan of this gym. There equipment is fine and everything is clean, but they keep trying to get me to download and app I do not want. They claim I need it order to attend there gym. I pay money to have access to these machines, and I do not want a phone app that tracks me. I was more than happy to give my phone number at the front desk which I had been doing for months, but one day the person behind the desk kept forcing it. After telling them no for the 3rd time we started to get annoyed and the owner yelled at my wife threatening to cancel our membership. This is a gym, not a store I don't want to be sold to. I do not want to haggle or to argue. I pay money to have access to this place and they take it if I go or not. I should not have to have a debate at the front door as to why i don't want an app that tracks me. We called there bluff and will happily spend our money at another gym.

Edit: equipment is starting to break down without a response from management, machines are not well maintained. Almost dangerous to go here. See pictures 😱 They say they are open, and they work with your schedule but they close incredibly early... 7pm on Saturday and Sunday. You can blame COVID as an excuse its a year since it started and other gyms are now back to 24 hours. I'm giving it another week then I will be leaving for a Gym that will stay open Edit for Response: Can you Let me know how Closing for 12 hours helps keep everyone Safe? You Guys don't clean the equipment during this time... you have big glass windows, you can see the employees just leave at the end of the night (because that when I get pushed out of there) Step up to the plate and at least open till midnight, stop hiding behind COVID, Other gyms have learned how to operate, you are falling behind UPDATE: Now there are holes in the walls that have been there for months! It's just disrespectful to its Members.

How come does the gym won't open it more early and close late? So, people who work 6am or 7am and work late can workout early and late. Esporta or other gyms are more earlier than Planet fitness that use to be 24/7
Exactly. It's ridiculous that the clubs in Philly are open 24 hours and NJ isn't. They're taking our money and not giving us what we paid for. Maybe if we start demanding to be reimbursed for all the hours we've paid for and not gotten this year, they'll stop ripping us off. At this point they're acting like a greedy corporation that's getting away with taking our money for something we're not getting while pocketing the money the save from not having to pay staff for 24/7 service. I'll be leaving for another gym soon if this doesn't change. I want my money back.
While we hope to extend our hours very soon, our clubs are currently abiding by all local and state guidelines. You can always join us every evening Monday-Friday at 7pm for live work outs from awesome trainers to continue your fitness journey on the PF App! Stay tuned to our club page for any new updates. Thank you for being part of our Planet! https://planetfitness.app.link/download

Hey Liz! Our Brooklawn, NJ location hasn't received a set date just yet, but as soon as they have determined an official date of reopening, they'll make a statement from their club's Facebook page and official club web page ASAP! We appreciate your patience very much thus far.
Hey Henry, we have started to reopen several clubs on a state by state basis. We don't have an opening date set at this time for our New Jersey clubs, but we will let you know the moment we have an update, so stay tuned for details via our club website and our Facebook page! planetfitness.com/gyms Billy
Hi Cathy, each of our clubs is independently owned & operated, so it would be best to reach out to the Brooklawn club manager to confirm if we offer the Silver Sneaker program here. Here's their contact information: https://www.planetfitness.com/gyms/brooklawn-nj We wish you all the best on your fitness journey, friend! 😊
I know they mention no blue jeans. I'm not sure how much they really enforce the dress code. I'd say any athletic apparel should be fine.
An ID, Credit card and fill out an application.
Good morning beautiful, I don't think so. The people that take classes use the equipment.
Dont believe so. You will always need to have some type of account on record regardless. Because if u cancel your membership they will charge u for it.
They usually have a $29 start up fee, then it's $10 per month. They don't have a traditional rowing machine, but they do have one that simulates one. If you walk in at any time you can get a tour in which they will explain all the equipment and pricing.
20 per month for black.... I havebt seen them turn down any kids that want to lift
