It's sometimes difficult to rate food, as everyone has varying tastes. We are a bit of the "foodies" type. I've tried nearly every restaurant in Lake Elsinore. Some are good. Some, not so much. I have to say that when it come to being authentic, to what a certain style of food should taste like, no one does it better than AJ's. No one. This is not fast food. In fact, you may have to wait awhile. This is soul food. Made with love. Everything from the wings to the Po Boys. From the Mac and Cheese to the (candied) yams. Everything I've tried has been A+. I actually like this place better than Mother's (in New Orleans) which is saying a lot. Visit this hidden gem.

The one thing I love the most is fish and awesome authentic food. If you ever come to Lake Elsinore CA you must check out AJ’s and I believe they are the best. The fish is fried well, plenty of meat, the corn bread is mouth watering, and if you love collard greens it is a must have. I always order a double order of collard greens along with my fish and it is absolutely delicious. A family owed business, great customer service, and very clean.

I went to AJ's to get red snapper to fry myself. No grocery stores sold it. The price was extremely high $14.99 a lb. I am glad I purchased one lb because the pieces was old, small and thin. I don't recommend getting fish here, cooked because you don't know what the pieces look like before they fry it. If you want to fry it yourself, please, ask to see it. I gave it two stars because it used to be a great place to get fish.

Great cod fried perfect no funny aftertaste from oils.. not oily either.peach cobbler was amazing wish they sold bigger sizes. Super yummy a must try Cole slaw was good ,okra a bit greasy ,. Overall family owned super nice x
