Original Tommy's World Famous Hamburgers

When I was in college out east, my roommate told of the Tommy burger. When I lived in LA for a brief 2 1/2 years, I never tried it. I was somewhat confused, because there appeared to be knock-off versions of Tommy Burger's. So, in my nearly 28 years of living in California, I finally decided to try Tommy's World Famous Burgers because I was visiting LA with my son and I was hungry after a trip to Griffith Observatory. We pulled through the drive-through, which was surprisingly empty, as well as the parking lot. I decided on the simple cheeseburger (no onions, or chili) and also the cheese fries. When I got my burger, I knew immediately that the ground beef was not fresh, but was frozen. Also, it was evident that the "cheese" on the cheese fries was American processed cheese. It was a really a quite sad experience. All of this 27ish years of anticipation building up in me, only to find lots of disappointment. In the end, it was food, but not the greatest.

First time this location, great like others. Got the deal, added cheese and a drink. Nap time. Several people in front of me, still fairly quick. Servers very pleasant and efficient. Two chili burgers with the proper display of what looks like too much chili, oh wait that could never happen, too much chili is how I order them.😁

How can you go wrong with Tommy’s? They often have deals buy one get one free if you sign up for their emails. Service has always been a little slow, but well worth it. Prices have gone up quite a bit. I used to get a cheeseburger meal and hamburger meal for $18.00 in 2020 now it is $25.00 I know prices have gone up everywhere.

Tried Tommy's Chilli burgers as the concept of burger with chillis intrigued me. To my surprise the burger tasted good. However, I have to warn you that it can get very messy if you don't handle it properly because of the Chilli overload. The service was relatively quick and the staff were friendly. The restaurant was slightly dirty and could have been better. overall a good experience and a great concept.
