As an alumnus it has been fantastic to get back to swimming again in the three lane lap pool on these beautiful summer days. An always friendly staff greats you and everyone is being Covid safe. The lockers are with reset combinations so you don’t need to bring your own lock & the showers are warm and clean. Easy to go and grab a workout and get back to your life. When Covid is finished, please, I will be back at the spin classes, weight training and enjoying the facilities. Amazing gym and wonderful atmosphere.

The Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) is a state-of-the-art recreation facility located on the east side of the California State University, Long Beach campus. Its area is about 126,500-square-foot. The building is two-story. SRWC is a hub for recreational activities, programs, and opportunities for Intramural Sports, Fitness, and Wellness services.

This facility has everything you can imagine to accommodate a healthy life style. Very well kept. Very well managed. The classes are so wonderful. WHAT, this place has indoor rock climbing too.

I've been coming here since it opened. Overall it's a great gym. Nice equipment, clean, and plenty of lockers. Some minor complaints: The spin class is in the open so the blaring music can be heard throughout the whole gym. It's really annoying when you're trying to workout close to the class. People don't know how to put weights back where they belong.

Pretty big, time goes really fast when you are there.

About how many people come here when they open at 6am/7am? For both weekdays and the weekend

Weekdays opening during the first couple weeks of the semester are moderately busy, fairly packed by 8am. Weekends are dead, everything is wide open. I worked there for a year and a half and worked out at opening almost every day in my 2.5 years at CSULB. Even "busy" openings are nothing compared to the morning or evening rush times

Is this pool open to the public for children to swim in the summer and if so are there certain times and/or days?

You need a memebership or guest pass to use the pool.
