Orphan Memories

We went to this bar basically because it was one of the ONLY places open in Belle Vernon for Thanksgiving (we decided to do an unconventional Thanksgiving this year). It is a cute little place that was also one of the few places I've come across in the past few years that had smoking indoors. As a former smoker, I can't say this was an attractive feature for me, but some may. So it didn't seem like people order food that often there, but when the bartender came over to take our orders, he assured us he makes a pretty mean burger, and that he did. Fried pickles and fried Mac and cheese bites are good bar food options too. All in all, it was a good overall experience of fried food, cigarette smoke, drunken jibber-jabber background noise, electronic darts, and a gal operating the jukebox with a pretty respectable palette of Nirvana, Primus, and Pink Floyd. It certainly beats an awkward gathering of family around a table arguing about Trump and the deep-seated racism that has been ever present in America even up to this day. 4 stars, y'all!!
