Dr. Stoker and his entire team provided me with an amazing experience. At the consultation, I felt the compassionate, focused, and expert presence of Dr. Stoker and I felt encouraged to ask many questions and process my feelings about having surgery. Following the consultation, while preparing for the surgery, Claudia and Vita answered all of my questions and were incredibly detailed and responsive throughout my many emails. During my pre-op, Dr. Stoker was sensitive to my preferences and concerns and tailored a plan for the surgery (both the process and content of the day) that felt right for me while getting me the best results. The day before surgery, the anesthesiologist called me and spoke with me at length about my feelings leading up to surgery and any specific concerns I had about the surgery experience. The day of surgery was smoother than any surgery experience I've had myself or when caring for a loved one. I felt cared for and felt full trust in the team. I woke up comfortably from surgery and was provided with abundant warmth and tenderness. Dr. Stoker checked on me throughout my first hours home after surgery and during our first post-op the next morning, Dr. Stoker was so positive while also admiring the amazing outcome of my complex surgery. In my subsequent post-ops and check-ins with Dr. Stoker and his team, I have felt respected, celebrated, and nurtured. I had attempted to have this surgery twice before with another leading surgeon and never achieved the result I wanted until I recently went to Dr. Stoker for the first time and I am so happy with my results. I can't recommend Dr. Stoker and his team more. They're the best, hands down. To get an amazing outcome from Dr. Stoker is gift enough, and to be treated so nicely throughout was, and continues to be, a cherished bonus.

I saw Stacey at Dr. Stoker's a few months ago. The reason I went to Dr. Stoker's office was because of how fabulous my girlfriend's results were with filler. After seeing her, I decided to try a new office for my filler and botox. I had the BEST experience with Stacey and the rest of their staff. She was very patient with me throughout the whole process, as I was a bit nervous going in. We decided to do 3 syringes of filler and a small amount of botox. 2 months later, I am so happy with the results and already planning to visit again next year. All of my friends have commented how I look rested and fresh I look. The best part is that no one is able to tell that I had anything done. Stacey was so attentive and even followed up with a phone call the next day to make sure the slight swelling had gone down. Also, the office is in the Marina and is gorgeous. It made the whole process so much nicer to stare at the beautiful Marina while I was getting my face done.

I received outstanding service from Dr. Stoker and his team. I had a neck lift, ear reduction and eye lid reduction surgery in November 2020. Dr. Stoker provided me in-depth consultation of my options. Post-survey care has been beyond my expectation. I highly recommend Dr. Stoker. I had interviewed other plastic surgeons, but I found Dr. Stoker to be more personable and he took time to answer all my questions and honestly advise me of expected outcomes. I am amazed at the outcome, his honesty and openness as well as the quality of his work.

I'm planning to get liposuction, but there are so many different types. What's the best one

Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020
Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020

It's true that the number of liposuction techniques can be a bit overwhelming for patients. I prefer power-assisted liposuction, laser liposuction, and the tumescent technique, but it's really the skill of the plastic surgeon that's most important, not the type of liposuction used.

How soon after getting a tummy tuck can I start exercising again?

Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020
Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020

This is one of the most common questions that tummy tuck patients ask. Dr. Stoker explains to patients what to expect during their tummy tuck recovery, including that they should avoid resuming strenuous exercise for at least 6 weeks. It is important to move around and take very brief walks starting the day after the surgery.

I want to remove my breast implants. Will I need a breast lift?

Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020

This can only be determined during a consultation with your plastic surgeon. A lift is often indicated during explant surgery (the procedure to remove implants), especially if you have larger breast implants.

How much weight can I lose if I get liposuction?

Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020
Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020

Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure (although a few pounds of fat may be removed during the surgery). Think of liposuction as a body contouring procedure designed to improve the appearance of a specific area, such as love handles or the buttocks. Good liposuction candidates should already be at or near their target weight.

I'm thinking about replacing my breast implants. What happens during the surgery?

Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020
Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020

Breast revision surgery, as the procedure is often called, is similar to primary breast augmentation with a few very important exceptions. The presence of scar tissue surrounding the implants makes the surgery more complicated than the initial augmentation procedure. That's why it's essential to choose a plastic surgeon with experience performing revision procedures.

How long do breast implants last?

Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020
Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020

You may have heard or read that, as a rule of thumb, breast implants need to be replaced after 10 years. That's an outdated concept because some implants can last much longer. If you remain happy with the results of your breast augmentation and there isn't anything wrong with the implants, there is no need to replace or remove them

How long do facelift results last?

Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020
Stoker Plastic Surgery: David Stoker, MD | Sep 1, 2020

That's a great question but not one with a specific answer. In a sense, the results last forever. That doesn't mean, however, that a facelift stops the aging process. The same factors that cause faces to age continue to exist, such as sun damage, collagen loss, and other issues. The best thing you can do to extend the benefits of a facelift is protecting your skin from sun exposure as much as possible.
