I visited this Church for the first time, specifically to get Food from the pantry every 4th Thursday in the month. The gentleman who approached me was very pleasant. However, food was only given to persons through driv-thru. He suggested that I can ask someone to ride with them, or if i can walk side by side the car and ask them if they can pick it up and give me outside. I told him I felt a bit uncomfortable with this, in addition due to this Covid-19, pple would not be too keen on that. He said well with the side by side walking, also asking someone should not be a problem as persons are quite friendly and have helped out a few yesterday morning. Well that did not occur for me, I asked someone. I spoke English and the approach was hostile. Is very unfortunate that this Church cannot accommodate persons who are coming on foot, not everyone has a car at present. I only came to this church as it is close to me, unlike another church I traveled to this month, took me over an hour to get there, they did where persons could pick up and be in the line. My thing is why cannot you all take into consideration persons who travel. Have someone stationed to the front where they can sit and allow persons to access food, especially due to what is currently going on with Covid. I came especially to get stuff for my toddler not much, the mere fact the gentleman told me you all had apples. Not everyone may want everything, just let persons choose. Or allow persons to register the week before concerning walk ins. I was really upset with this situation, you all need to do better to facilitate persons in this position, totally unacceptable especially for a Church. I also was referred. As a total culture we need to be more accepting to persons who are not in that position as well, What can we do better? Put a notice on your website or something so other persons would not waste their time like me coming and be disappointed and no one answers the phone or returns messages.

This is a great church with many nice people. There are two Chinese services and one English service. Everyone is very welcoming and are compassionate. It is not too big of a church and they have amazing worship. I really enjoyed my time there.

The church partners with LA Food Bank to distribute the food and these are the regulations that we have set up. There are local areas in Pomona that do take walk-ins for food distributions if people do not have a vehicle.
Yes, we currently still have Food Pantry but it’s on 4th Thursday of the month, not every Thursday.
There is a scheduled food bank event on Thursday 3/26 in conjunction with the LA Food Bank from 9am-11am. This is a monthly event held on every 3rd Thursday of the month. They have moved all in-person services to an online platform at rhccc.net.
