Absolutely my favorite deep dish pizza. They're really not stingy about putting in quality ingredients into their pie. The result is a deep dish that has very good balance between sweet, salty, tart and umami. The aroma is also surprisingly refreshing. The mozzarella was generous and it's satisfyingly stringy when you pick up a piece. The crust is a proper pie crust, a very good snack on it's own. The regular pizza is also pretty good, seriously a proper and succulent pizza still adorned with quality ingredients. The tomato sauce is very good with precise amount of garlic infused. Ambiance is ok-ish but the service is great and very attentive while not judging the eaters like us who confused on how to properly eat a deep dish. Kudos. Price is quite affordable. I seriously don't know why I didn't eat more of Zachary's when I was a student of the nearby college. Now that I live a million miles away I can only replay how good it tastes in my head.

Haven't been to this Zachary's since I moved temporarily out of the area. I had guest and they wanted to have pizza so we drove up to this one in Berkeley. Everything was the same except for the wait staff. They were all new faces so the turnover must be great from semester to semester. The house special and the healthy chicken & spinach pies 🥧 😋 👌 were great. We paired it with a salad and meatballs. It was an enjoyable experience to relive the old college days. There were 3 of us and we ordered 2 medium pies. We had plenty of leftover slices to take home.

The best Chicago Style Pizza in the Bay Area! This vegetarian pizza is so savory you don't even miss meat!

Zachary's favorite chicken special staffed pizza, small size was somewhat delicious. I ordered it to go and waited at least 30 min the order to be ready to pick up. After tasting it, I was not overly impressed. It is better than average, nevertheless. However, when i looked at the price, it looks like it is too high. Unless i dine inside the restaurant, the price would probably be just right, because i would get an additional benefit which is the experience to be in a nicely decorated area with many people enjoying their meal. I would just recommend to try it just one time so that you can see the difference between this stuffed pizza and a regular thin pizza we all like to eat.

They only sell slices for lunch and until they run out. It used to be thin crust slices only, but they do a few pies of deep dish slices now. First come first served.
They can do various options including vegetarian or simply a tomato sauce and cheese.
Microwave only if you don't have time, however it won't taste as good. Best way is to defrost it for a couple hours then throw it the oven at like 200 deg for like 15 -20 min
