We met friends from Bakersfield for a mid morning breakfast. Keene Cafe is the perfect halfway spot for Tehachapi residents for such an occasion. The breakfast was, as always, very good. The service is friendly and unobtrusive. The venue is simple and plain. No frills. The perfect country atmosphere. Have been there many times. Will return again.

When you walk into this place takes you back to the good old days lol. Gabby was my server.. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries,Let me tell you that cheeseburger was delicious Which came with lettuce a pickles red onion.and the fries are the shoestring fries so they were even better. Gabby was busy she had a lot of tables but yet she came to mine a couple of times to make sure I was doing OK. I gotta refill twice on my iced tea. The iced tea was really good too. IF You're passing through on your to Barstow, Ft. IRWIN or anywhere south you' wont be disappoint.

Pit stop for some coffee and dessert. Beautiful location in Keene, also great customer service. Not too busy but was attended and served quickly. I overheard the breakfast is excellent 👌. Parking is massive for all semis and Rigs. Its right next to the Kern County Firestation.

Menu is posted outside. You go inside to order, but there is a large L shaped sheet of plexiglass between you and the person helping you. There are several picnic tables out under the trees, and the server will bring your food out to you. There are outside trash cans for the disposables, no real plates or silverware are being used. Condiments are the little packets. Last I was there, you could not use the restrooms.
