I'm going to try to be constructive in my criticism, and always taking into account that our servers were exceptionally friendly. To start with it took a while to get a table, that's usually a good sign. So we ordered guacamole with chips, and at the table there are two salsas a red one and a green. The chips and the guacamole were very expensive in my opinion considering the amount of guacamole was very small. ($12) The chips were also not that good, and the red salsa tasted a little fizzy. I got the ginger soda and the smallest little glass arrived mostly ice, with the homemade ginger soda. It took only a few sips and that glass was downed pretty quick, along with $6. In the pictures you will see the regular burrito and the tamales with mole. Both plates were pretty much the worst tasting Mexican food we have ever experienced. Both myself and my daughter came to the conclusion that if you go to any one of the taquerias nearby you will pay one third the amount but you will have authentic food. I understand that this is an alternative vegetarian restaurant but there are so many ways to make those products or ingredients taste better. All of the plates are above $18 and honestly I can't understand why anyone would pay that. Drinks were above 16 bucks. A better alternative would be to go to an actual Mexican restaurant and just choose the vegetarian version, ask for the pinto beans instead of the refried beans, make sure you get corn tortillas so you avoid any animal fat.... And when your bill comes you will have enough to spend at least two more meals.

GRACIAS MADRE. This food was great. The service was excellent, the atmosphere and the space makes it feel like you're out somewhere special. And best of all, vegan, gluten free friendly. Will be back for sure.

We went on a Saturday night. It is preferable to get a reservation to avoid long wait times. We ordered the gordiotos and fried cauliflower for appetizers, the tamale and flautas for mains and mocha cheesecake and flan for desserts to go. The appetizers and mains were very tasty. We also ordered two cocktails one passion fruit based mojito and another mezcal based drink. The cocktails were really good and had a good balance of flavors. The fried cauliflower and the gorditos( fried potato masa cakes) were really tasty. The butternut squash based tamale was really tasty as well. It had a good balance of sweetness from the squash along with the spices from the harbanero tomato sauce. The flautas were really tasty as well. We only ordered the mocha cheesecake for dessert , but the hostess bought an additional flan as well. We decided not to return the flan. But overall the food and the service was really good.

The food and people were both amazing. Thank you so much to the staff who communicated their gluten free foods in a way that let me make an educated decision. That all the desserts were gluten free really made my night too. Sitting up at the bar, we also really enjoyed the conversation. Also, the food... let's just say my dad first suggested this place and for him to recommend anywhere vegan is a good sign. (he's my go-to foodie) I doubt there is a bad option on the menu. I know we'll be back on a future trip.
