Nice camping in a grove of live oaks, bathrooms were nicely clean with running water. Spigots near each camp site for potable water. Went in July and it was *very* hot (100 degrees in the shade). Very brown and fire hazard was high. Would probably not go in the summer for our next visit. Very nice hiking around Rock City, with cool rock formations around every corner. Almost every campsite had some form of rock feature to climb on, so kids would probably love it. Just not in the middle of summer.

The reason for my rateing is bc this camp ground is on a hill, there is literally no place to set teant! Whoever designed this campaign area is... well not very smart, the park rangers were rude at the entrance we really don't wanna camp there again, it's a beautiful view at the top. The view was the only positive thing of our camp trip, the Rock city is all vandalized with writing and crafts all over! It was very sad to see that they don't keep care of them. Definitely not recommended a big 3 out of 10 experience

Conveniently located campground. Our site had enough space for 2 cars, stone grill, water access, bench and 2 large tents. The bathrooms are clean - no soap available but that's okay. Also there is sufficient privacy from other campers. There is also a trial head right next to the campground ... Behind Site 22 I believe. Will definitely return

I haven't been to live oak in a long time and I was quite impressed. The bathroom faculties were really clean and plentiful. There aren't a lot of level spots for tents but you can find at least one in each campsite. The campfire rings are good and the tables are plentiful at each site. We did have quite a few yellow jackets buzzing around in the morning. This is a good jumping off spot for rock city and a fairly challenging hike to the summit.

Yes, I believe that is allowed I have called the state park and they let my son and his friends spend the night. As long as the boys are respectful and quite, with proper reservation, they can stay the night.
Virtually nothing on Tmobile
Due to current high fire risk, wood / coal fires are not allowed. Only controlled propane / butane / natural gas fires for cooking. This can change as drought conditions get better.
Campsites can accommodate trailers/ RVs that are less than 20ft. There are no hookups in the park though.
Thank you for your response and your time I appreciate it Mr Eklund
It closes at sunset. You can't get in or out after that until 8am.
It's $30 per night for one tentsite with parking included (as of May 2019). I'm almost positive there was no senior discount. I think that's standard for CA state parks. See www.parks.ca.gov.
