If I could give one star less I would. For whatever reason this bank did not want to cash my check yesterday. I have cashed the same check issued and amount with them in the past. I get a check every month for the same amount. The teller began with calling another teller over to assist. I would’ve understood if the bank simply didn’t have enough money to cover the transaction. However when I explained and asserted that I did indeed cash my check with their branch in the past and I always cash my check with US Bank the assisting teller question by motives. She told me I was wrong when I told her that I’d had a bad experience with auto deposit mistakes in the past and that my money would be so much safer if I would just take it to a Wells Fargo to cash it. Wells Fargo would put a hold on the check because it was not a Wells Fargo check and I would not be able to utilize the money until the following day. I needed my rent paid that day. The woman continued to find and create falsities in my story , I told her I have cashed my check for years so long that I remember when they used to do the fingerprint. I think she just didn’t want to listen to me because she misunderstood me and said oh I must not have catch the check with them in so long because they haven’t done the fingerprint in four years. I know they don’t do the fingerprints anymore but would not allow me to speak. She raised her voice more even when I said feel like you’re not letting me speak she continued to speak over me. She said additional identification would be required I pulled out all of my debit cards bank cards and medical identification cards. They said they could try to run the check they stuck it in the machine it did nothing and they said they could not run my check. She said there was a policy that prevented them from cashing it because it was over $2000. I left in tears feeling humiliated. I come from an abusive and traumatic background . I have no idea why I was so triggered by Yesterdays events but it was horrible I felt demeaned and dehumanized when I spoke up for myself and said you are not letting me speak. I called the Tanasbourne branch and they told me that there was no policy that would prevent US Bank from cashing my check and that they would be happy to assist me. I took the extra time out of my day to drive 10 minutes further out and get my check cashed to turn around and come back over to Cornell to pay my rent. I was late for work. I spent the rest of the day wondering what I could’ve possibly done to offend this woman. Was a some fat white woman that came off as super privileged was it the dreads in my hair and she felt like I was guilty of cultural appropriation? Because of my background I am a people pleaser by nature. And I generally uphold the notion that the customer is right whenever possible. I go out of my way to be extremely kind and courteous with my language to other people, yesterdays experience really threw me for a loop. My experiences yesterday reminded me why I do not open up a bank account with US Bank, and I just eat the seven dollar fee every month to cash my check.

Been with US Bank for over 40 years. In the past few months ( 10/19/2020 ) the service has deterioated. Become rude and unhelpful ( Stephen C. Johnson a peon with a wanna be manager attitude ) among others. Went to this branch to seek clarification of monthly statement entry . Was REFUSED service for not having prior appointment even though there was just one other customer around and at a different station." Prior appointments " have NEVER been a requirement ever before. Bank using covid excuse to shut down MANY branches. The branch which held my safe deposit box is shut down PERMENANTLY , BUT no notification to me to empty contents nor any offer of alternatives. Luckly I went there seeking help after my experience here to discouver the shut down. Guess U.S. Bank must be going out of business with all the shut downs.

Is usbank going to bankruptcy or something wrong with the management? Each time I see less employees, I heard 3 employees quit within the last month. Now I only see one guy on the teller line. I'm wondering if that guy gets to eat something, break or something. What a mess on this branch!

I have been banking at US Bank for 15 + years with both my personal and business accounts. They do a great job and are always very helpful. The Branch Manager Nick is really knows his products and is always willing to help answer questions. I have worked in banking for 30 years and I highly recommend US Bank Orenco Station Branch.
