Beautiful but strenuous hike to get here. Permit required from the state park and only 100 issued per day. Be prepared with lots of water and good shoes and clothes that can get wet since this hike requires crossing the River and hiking down the banks of the River with large slippery boulders. The hike is well worth it once you get to siding rock where you can swim. You can go black the way you came or adventure back across the River and up the side of the gorge about 1/4 mile with an 800 foot vertical rise. Going this way takes you through property owned by Wallenda LLC that was used when Paul Wallenda crossed the gorge on a high wire. You can still see the suspension anchor when you reach the top.

This is so spectacular but at the same time you have to be very careful with slippery boulder rocks. You have to be in shape if you want to go down to the Gorge....period!!! Sliding Rock trail on your way out is brutal.... seriously!! But this one in a lifetime adventure. Peace!

Easily accessible and seen from roadside. Nice after a rainfall. By far the easiest seen from roadside waterfall as it is literally on the road.

Hiked this state park a couple weekends ago and so loved it! i hiked along the rim of the gorge which had several observation areas where you can look out into the gorge. I went to the gorge to watch sunrise and boy was it beautiful. I’ve hiked all the way down into the gorge to the bottom which is a must if you haven’t done it yet! The suspension bridge is so cool to see AND walk across. It is 750 steps down to the bridge and another 450 steps to the bottom. The nature center is really cool too. They have a lot of history jam packed inside the building as we as information on various wildlife in the area.

Not sure. I guess there are spots you could sleep, but I would call the park and ask whether they allow it in the gorge.
