Just got home from a 90-minute trip to the Dade City Gun Club. On line they state that they "waive the $100. initiation fee for "active" military, EMT, Fire Rescue and Law Enforcement." I understand "active" to mean a holder of a current photo ID with an acceptable expiration date. I confirmed this policy with a Range Officer a week ago, as I am an "active" First Responder, with a valid Fire Rescue CERT ID. Just as a Range Officer begins the processing of my membership, the new President "Bill" walks over, grabs my ID and asks, "are you full-time paid or are you a volunteer?" I am a volunteer. So Bill says that doesn't count. So for all of you volunteers out there, like myself, with hundreds of hours of training, for the sole purpose of assisting folks in an emergency, be advised, you 'don't count' at the Dade City Gun Club. CERT, Volunteer Fire Fighter, part-time LE, Medical Reserve Corp, Coast Guard Auxiliary, trained SAR or dozens of others....you don't count. Denial of advertised benefits to First Responders is likely illegal. I don't know, I'll have to check with the proper authorities in Tallahassee. Overall, Bill was rude and disrespectful. But he is something of a comedian. When he looked at my ID (issue by a Fire District in Pinellas County) he said, "Pynellis County....I heered a that!" So funny.....

This is my third time visiting and the third time enjoying my visit. The range officers are friendly, helpful and above all: attentive and safe. For a non-member at the time of my visit, it costs $20 per shooter and that comes with eye and ear protection if you need it or don’t have your own. It also comes with unlimited paper targets while you’re there, but you can also use your own. They do have memberships available but I’ll leave it to you to look at their website for details. The range is mostly well kept and clean. There is a pistol (and I believe they allow .22 rifles) on one side with what I would guesstimate are 10 and 20yd targets. On the other side is the rifle range that has 50, 75 and 100yd target setups, and each bay has a shooting bench. All shooting must be done from the bench. I enjoy coming here and like that it’s outdoors. I don’t like the claustrophobic feel of indoor, dark, pressurized shooting ranges. I like the feel and the brightness of shooting at an outdoor range and its location is in what I consider the nicest part of Florida (other than the beaches). I definitely recommend this range and enjoy taking new people there and introducing them to an enjoyable outdoor range. Also there is no shop any other services here. Range only, so you must bring your own ammo.

Yes black powder shooters are welcome. We have bench notches for reloading. Come on in and make it smokey
Yes i shoot there... Very friendly and plenty of room... Slug only though if i remember correctly
Ken, if you are current member there is no daily fee for you or family members. Our public range is for target shooting so we ask shooters to slow down to one shot every two seconds. So no draw and shoot, double taps or other tactical style shooting. We do run matches first and second Saturday mornings of the month that allow shooters to practice defensive skills under the timing pressure. Hope that answers your questions.
Daily range use is $20, no time limit. A yearly membership to all club activities is $120 ($220 first year)
Not on the public range but it is part of the matches held first and second Saturday at 9 a.m.http://dcrgc.us/competitive_shooting_events.html
Yes, $20 no time limit.
The public range is open every day except Thursdays, Christmas Day and Easter.
Daily range fee is $20. For an annual membership to use the range and take part in all club activities like the swap meet, matches and training it is $120/year ($220 for the first year).
