Although the only entrance is down the steps and through the water, this is a gem of a spot. Not too crowded most of the time, dogs, families, wildlife in the water to look at (crabs and fish), and because it's on the bay the waves are so mild and the water stays pretty calm. Absolutely loved this spot. Great for babies too! Better than the gulf since the water is so much calmer.

This place was amazing! It was storming north and south, but not here. Spent the day there. Parking is a bit scarce. On nice days very crowded. Clean bathroom facilities. No showers.

To the people leaving bad reviews about their dog not being able to swim during a high tide, duh. It’s common sense you or your animal shouldnt be out during a high tide, as you can get pushed out into the ocean. So, I would say, those people just wanted something to complain about. Despite the negative Nancy’s, Absolutely beautiful beach with stunning waters. I wouldn’t call it a dog park to be honest, I would’ve just left it at sunset beach.. and the signs are a bit confusing about the dog must be on a leash, but like how are they supposed to swim freely. Idk, I don’t make the signs. Statement still stands about the water being beautiful though!

Cool spot to walk in the canal knee high. Dogs are supposed to be on a leash, however, noone enforces it.
