I called Star Mechanical at about 5pm one night (after waiting 5+ days for a larger corporation in the area to come out, just to have them cancel the day before my appointment). Shawn, Owner of Star Mechanical, answered the phone personally and was at my house less than 20 minutes later. He diagnosed the problem and had a new AC unit installed the following day for a reasonable price. Shawn is very responsive and knows what he is doing. I will be using Star Mechanical for all my heating and cooling needs moving forward. Highly recommended!

I called Curtis about 6:25 PM the night before, its 100° outside, the AC is set to 82°, and the house is getting warmer by the hour. Curtis, unexpectedly, told me he could be here in the morning. Honestly, I was prepared to hear, it'll be 2 or 3 weeks out before I can get to you. He arrived around 8:30 AM, diagnosed and repaired by 9:30. Curtis was very efficient and a great conversationalist. I will look to call on Star Mechanical for future HVAC issue and will refer them to friends as the need arises.

Unbelievable service! I must say I will use this company from now on for any service I need that they provide! In the middle of a heatwave in the San Joaquin Valley, the last thing you want to deal with is a broken Air Conditioner. So if your Air breaks down, you can trust them to provide you with timely honest service at a fair price. My unit is old and all of a sudden it just wouldn't blow any cold air. Based on the units age of 40 years I was prepared to hear I needed a new unit. So after another company I called rescheduled several times I contacted Star Mechanical . They arrived the same day at the time they said they would and the man just left. My unit had clicked off a switch because it needed to be cleaned. He cleaned it slip that switching I'm getting cold air at a very nominal charge. Simple, honest and the man couldn't have been more polite! No sales pitch nothing! I felt refreshed all the way around! I wouldn't hesitate to call them in the future and will refer the company to anyone in need of one of their services!

I highly recommend Shawn and his crew for any hvac job you have. There is one word I will use to Describe Shawn! That is integrity! He installed a new system in my home a few years ago. I referred him to my neighbor and I will refer him to you! His pricing is very competitive, and the workmanship is excellent. My wife is all about having closet space. So he moved our heater into the attic. It’s great, you don’t notice the sound of it running and we have a extra closet my wife turned into a pantry!! Thank you Shawn your service after the sale is also Excellent!!

Yes, this is normal. A heat pump generally produces air that is 80°, which is considered warm and will heat the house evenly. However, 80° may feel cool to your hand, which is usually closer to 90°.
You should have maintenance done on your air conditioning system twice a year. This not only ensures maximum efficiency but also enables us to foresee any possible problems that may occur shortly.
Changing out your air filter regularly is the primary maintenance you can perform. When talking about ground mounted outdoor units the units will need to be kept clear of debris, which includes any foliage in the area. Additional maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel.
For peak efficiency, performance and filtration, it is recommended that you replace your disposable filters at least once a month. If you have washable filters, they should be cleaned once a month.
In general, no. HVAC systems are the least efficient when first turning on. A system with too much capacity will run in numerous short cycles, turning on and off repeatedly, therefore causing it to be less efficient and increasing energy consumption. Another primary function of an air conditioner is to remove humidity from the air and running shorter cycles doesn’t remove humidity from the air very well.
As a consumer the most important tasks you can perform involve cleaning and replacement of your filters regularly. Also, shades, drapes, shutters, or screens can be installed on windows that are exposed to extreme sunlight to help reduce temperatures as well.
HVAC systems use a metric called S.E.E.R. (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) when assessing efficiency. S.E.E.R. is the amount of cooling your system will deliver per dollar spent on electricity. For example, a 3-ton unit may have a S.E.E.R. efficiency rating of 13, 14, or 15. The higher the S.E.E.R., which ranges from 13 -17, the more efficient the system will be.
In general, one (1) ton of air conditioning can cool anywhere from 300 to 800 square feet of home. The primary factor impacting the effectiveness of an AC unit is the construction of your home. The best way to assess your home's needs is to have a licensed professional evaluate them.
Heating and cooling systems are sized according to their tonnage. One (1) ton equals 12,000 BTU/H (British Thermal Units/ Hour).
HVAC is short for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. The acronym is often used as an abbreviation to refer to your whole heating and cooling system.
