I bought 5 cubic yards mahogany wooden chips for 1500 square feet yard, but can’t cover all for 1 inch deep. Some garden bed was not covered by these chips—I bought another black one. 5 cubic yards is more less than I expected. I’m not happy with the volume.

I recommend South Bay Materials. Both the staff in the store and in the yard were really helpful and friendly. I was shopping for small quantities of bulk compost and mulch. They provide 1 cu. ft sacks, a funnel and a shovel and I was able to drive to the piles to grab what I needed then pay for it inside. They have a good selection of materials so I was able to get exactly what I needed.

Your best bet is to call them.
$45 per cubic yard. I was able to fit half a cubic yard at a time on a tarp in the back of my van.
