I love Roanoke Park. I love the Old stone walls that's around the perimeter of the park and the trees it's almost has a forest like effect to it. This park is a very old and I've spent a lot of time here both during day and that night. And I can honestly say that this park is hauntedI have seen things that I cannot explain at night. But I have only really been scared really bad one time but yet something draws me back to this park again and again.

This community center is such a boon to the neighborhood! Great facility next to a beautiful park. Always clean, with helpful and friendly staff. They have a small gym, a computer lab, an indoor basketball court, and meeting space. It's not a huge community center but it's perfect for Volker. This is also where I vote and it's always so easy and convenient.

Hidden gem in the city. I lifet weights here four nights a week and it's perfect size for what I want. I do not want a huge airplane hangar type facility, I want my machines specific to what I lift all lined up in a row so I can move quickly from one to the other. I get my rep series of all machines done in an hour, and boom out the door. Staff is nice and helpful. BBall court, pottery, computers if you need them. Rental rooms. Plenty of treadmills and ellipticals for the folks that use them. This is a community gym, so if you like the neighborhood feel, this is your place. I lived for 30 years about 100 ft. from this place and never needed a weight room in my house because of this location. Don't mind the bums that frequent the outside once and awhile...that's city atmosphere. Big fan of this place and will frequent this gym until I reach Mr. Olympia status. ** UPDATE: There has been an important piece of lat pulldown equipment down needing service for two months now. Can we get Fitness Showcase to come out and fix this? Two months is far too long to either have them service the machine or go to another vendor. It's a major machine in many people's routine and it's just sitting there in disrepair. You put the fancy customer service kiosk in the hallway, let's do the basics like keep up the maintenance on the machines!
