Pretty neat place. Beware! The website specifically says that it is $15 per collector, cash only. Nowhere does it say you have to have a paying adult to go up to the area with kids. When you get there, they tell you you cannot be up there supervising your children if you don't pay the $15... So you drive over an hour, bring enough cash for your kids and they tell you you have to wait in the parking lot. So, bring money for the adults.... So ridiculous! I debated raring it at three stars because of this but it really was a neat place. They are very strict on your hour as well. I feel like it took us a little while to get in the groove and figure out how to find fossils so it also might be worthwhile to bring money to do a second hour.

I don't live nearby, but was researching places to visit on a possible future trip. I saw the fossil kits they have available to be purchased and shipped. It came quickly, undamaged, and is perfect! Thank you!

Brought my kids here for Father's Day, my kids (3 and 6) loved it. Nancy and the other woman (D?) were helpful and great with kids. Easily found a few nice fossils, great value for a combination of the experience and things to take home.

I just love this place. For $10 an hour a person can process fossils and keep what they find as long as it is not a rare fossil. I have found a lot of leaves, other plant products, and a bug wing. I was here one day when someone found a full bee. I have taken people from out of town here so that they could have a geeky Colorado experience. It is also a great out door activity for families. They are taking COVID seriously and I felt safe there while showing it to a friend.
