Went for dinner on a Tuesday. No reservations, wait was nearly one hour but their pagers allow you to go up to 3 blocks from the restaurant. Service was great. Alicia was friendly and got our order entirely correct. Mushroom bruschetta appetizer and the whitefish cakes were delicious. Whitefish in entrees was mildly ‘fishy’ tasting. The sausage tortellini was favorite entree of all ordered at our table. Dessert… yum. Carrot cake looked to die for and strawberry rhubarb pie was totally delicious. If I could give 4.5 stars I would, mainly because of the fish. For a small-town restaurant, they do an excellent job and food is pretty darn good!

Stayed in Bayfield for about a week and ate here twice. The 1st time was a last minute decision and I got there about 30minutes before they closed. Luckily they do take away and I ordered a pepperoni pizza to go. The staff was friendly and didn't make a fuss about the lady minute order. It was so good that my boyfriend asked to go back the next day for supper. The waiter was polite and very good at his job. Filled our water glasses and kept them topped off without us every having to flag him down to ask. The food came out and was as excellent as the 1st time we'd had it (we ordered the pepperoni pizza again). The environment there was laid back and cozy. Great for date nights or for relaxing after a day out exploring. I would 100% recommend eating here if you're in the area.

One of the overall worst dining experiences in a while and we dine out frequently. I have actually never left a negative review but feel this situation is deserving of one. Would have given zero stars if it was an option. A summary: walked in and the very first thing we asked was “do you have whitefish?” To which the hostess replied, “yes, we sure do” — we had not been able to get it anywhere the day before, so came for that. We were told it was a 30-40 minute wait, but we could only wait outside on the patio— mind you it was 55 degrees, overcast, and misting — we were still okay with that. After an hour of waiting outside, we came in to check on our table and warm up. The young bartender came over and said his brother (owner?) wants us to wait back outside. Our table was supposed to be ready in 5 minutes so they “allowed “ it but not happily. We later saw others sitting and eating at the bar which was never offered to us as an option. We finally got sat. The hostess said she would bring waters right away but those never came. After 5-10 minutes our server came over. We ordered an appetizer and soups to start. The appetizer came out wrong and our server said, “you didn’t touch it, right?” and took it away to serve to the correct table. We then both ordered whitefish entrees. While waiting for our correct appetizer to come out I could see the staff staring at us and whispering— my husband could not because his back was turned. Our appetizer then came out as did one of our soups. When the second soup was brought our server said, “I’m sorry, but we just ran out of whitefish”. By then we just wanted to leave. The owner/manager who wanted us to wait back out in the cold never showed his face. We got our FULL bill and the server said “Sorry, well, I do hope you will try us again.” It was not entirely her fault — she could not help the part about running out of fish — but we will definitely NOT be back!
