Lovely little nature preserve with pine scrub habitat, wildflowers, and gopher tortoises. Dogs and other pets are NOT allowed in order to protect the tortoises, unlike many other walking trails in the city. The location is beside a railroad and the highway, so there is often substantial noise due to traffic and trains. There is a short mile-long walking loop over sandy ground, with the trail joining an maintenance road for a while near the midpoint. Wildflowers can be seen along the banks of a bayou between the maintenance road and the highway. Better signage marking the trails would be helpful where it crosses the maintenance roads. Little wildlife during summer days (only saw one dove and a tortoise, as well as many crimson dragonflies), but that may vary with time of day and season.

Its one of the only parks in town, right next to the interstate. It's not dog friendly and calling it a nature preserve is kind of a shame. Atleast they didn't allow every lot to be developed

Took the time to "stop and smell the roses" though no roses were anywhere on the property 😉. It was a nice walk, on a sandy path through some natural Florida scrub. Saw a rabbit, but no tortoise (which was prominently advertised at the entrance). Took a couple of pictures of some angular branches (out-of-the-norm). Nice park; will return.

Small little neighborhood nature preserve butted up against the side of the interstate highway. Lots of traffic noise but if you can get past that as I did it has a quaint little trail.

The trail is a smaller loop, seems better for walking
