Great place except don't plan on sleeping. Love the pool, community campfire, friendly people, parties. The campground sanctioned parties go on to 3-4 a.m. with no regard to campers that might actually want to sleep.

I have never been camping before but heard positive feedback about Hillside. I made my reservation back in March and was planning my trip for July. I had a lot of questions and Wayne was extremely helpful. He even gave me his personal cell phone number. I rented RV 218A which is on the landing strip and looks directly into the men’s outdoor shower. I was able to check-in at camp early. I got lost finding my RV, but some perm residents were happy to help me. I felt very safe at camp. Most times when I left my RV, I did not even lock the door to my trailer. Ember’s Café was good but gave me heartburn. My advice to anyone interested in making a reservation at camp is as follows… #1 Bring old comfortable sneakers. The hills are steep, and it can get muddy. #2 Check the expiration dates on things sold in the Man Store, many items are expired. #3 There is a Denny’s & Burger King close to camp if you get hungry and do not want to travel far for food. Finally, free your mind, let loose and have fun. There’s room for improvements around camp but this place has a lot of potential.

I've been coming here periodically for more than 20 years and every time is better than the last!! Illumination Weekend is one of the most SPECTACULAR, but other events have also been great! You can't beat the uninhibited sense of FAMILY that you can experience here. Old or young, it's a great place for MEN to relax & feel free!
