It is so much fun! We camped here overnight. The campsites seem to range in size but ours was pretty big. There IS a port-a-potty here. The rocks are really fun to explore. You can walk along the tops and look down or go down in. You can go in between them, through caves, and even climb on the rocks. A very fun way to enjoy the outdoors. There IS cell service (I have Google Fi, uses T-Mobile towers).

The Rock City State Forest Park is surrounded with rock formations that are large rocks with narrow pathways. The shortest hiking trail was 16 minutes (0.7miles). It's a great place for birding and hiking but you can also enjoy solitude.

This was so cool. It is a great place to bring the kids. They will be overwhelmed by the size of the rocks.

A great place for a hike. Unbelievable that this is in Western New Yorks backyard. Maybe not for small children because of the height of some of the rocks but an excellent place for any adult with hiking ability.

There's no hook ups, but there's room to back a pop up in at some sites
No fees, if a campsite is open you can use it. Camping for more than three nights or with 10 or more people requires a permit from a Forest Ranger. Call 518-897-1300 to get the name and contact information for the local ranger.
I always see lots of cute dogs there at the park. Just keep in mind, ticks and rocky terrain if you are going on trails together.
Don't think so.
I believe you can only target shoot there from November 1st to April. Another place you can target shoot nearby is East Otto Forest.
