The Memorial itself is emotionally effective in that it makes one realize why many of us came to America in the first place - & how lucky we still are to be in this land of opportunity. But the Memorial is deteriorating & might need to be restored. The surrounding area closest to the Memorial is under some sort of construction - which appears to have been stalled for some reason. The parking area & grounds are in grave need of improvement/restoration - especially the weather-worn bridge which is laden with countless dents, holes, & rusting metal barriers along each side of the bridge. (The bridge has been like this for YEARS with no upkeep to the cement, etc.) The lake/pond is nice. However, on the calm side (not the waterfall side) there is a ton of pollution debris which gathered in the corner near the land area, close to the underside of the bridge. (Sad.) However, this place has the potential to be really BEAUTIFUL - because the surrounding nature is ALREADY beautiful. That day during our walk, my boyfriend & I encountered the following creatures/friends: a rabbit, greyish snake going under a rock near water, young deer, beautiful gray crane near the fall, other birds & pretty sounds from them. All were delightful moments despite the negative human influence! When I see all these wonderful things I realize how God is still with us!

Small, but very pretty park with a fun waterfall to look at and a pond. There is no swimming, but people were fishing in the pond. There is also a nicely maintained bike pathway that extends north and south from the park.

My favorite access point to the south and north county pathway for a gorgeous and long bike ride. Easy to park. Clean. Peaceful. Picnic tables or benches to sit on. Lots of shade.

Sorry Don't know
You can fish in the park. In fact, there are enormous fish there. I have never caught anything there, despite many attempts, and none of the fishermen that I have spoken with have had even a nibble. If you try and you succeed, please post your secret!
