As a UK citizen I received a superb service. My car got broken into in the San Jose area and the passport was stolen along with the laptop etc. I telephoned the consulate and they explained what I had to do online to get an emergency passport. I then arranged a suitable appointment. The consulate will then either email you or telephone to Confirm the appointment. You need an appointment as without this you will not be allowed inside. Remember to take along UK size passport photo's! As this is inside the Citibank and due to security, you will be escorted to the lifts. Its on the 8th floor. You will need your return flight details as this is added to the emergency passport document. As my paperwork was all in order, I was very happy that I could have the passport within an hour. :)

The worst consulate on Earth. I cancelled my Visa application, because it took forever to get the visa and I had to go on another trip to Vancouver and needed my passport. I lost my flight to Vancouver because I didn't receive my bassport on time. It's been 5 days since they say they've dispatched my passport, but apparently, they haven't mailed it yet. BTW, you have to pay £5 if you want to contact them via email and the worst part is that you get nothing if you do so any way.

Wow.. how unbelievable. Called the consultate to find out about expediting my daughter Tier 4 visa to attend school in Glasgow and the person on the phone claimed to know nothing about visas and told me it was an emergency line and hung up on me. Unreal. Only giving it a one because zero wasn't an option.

I needed an emergency travel document because my passport had expired, and I didn't realize until I was at SFO airport. My original flight was on a Saturday, which was unfortunate because this office is only open Mon-Fri. Anyhow, I booked an appointment online for the follow Tuesday (only booking available), but in responding to the email confirmation I got Sunday evening pleading for a Monday appointment (because my flight was at 5pm Monday), I was called on Monday morning around 8:30am confirming I could come in at 11am for an appointment (you can't get to the office without an appointment). The office is within the Citigroup Center building. Go to the reception and as long as you have an appointment they will let you up to the correct floor. They were happy with my carrying my bags up to the office. Once on the correct floor, find a door labeled '851 Consular Section' and there will be a counter with someone waiting for you inside. With all the correct documentation and a passport photo, I was given my emergency travel document within 30 mins of getting there.
