Honest people who provided good service. But the people here make regular use of the bike lane and sidewalk as parking spaces.

They took a very long time to fix my car but it was worth it because they did an excellent job for a reasonable price & they were HONEST. They also fixed my mom's car & they did all her repairs in one day. I feel blessed to finally have found a trust worthy mechanic in Oakland...when you're a woman it's hard to come by.

These guys were smart and professional and down to earth. Luckily, I interrupted the theft of my cat converter and Brian repaired the damage and installed a cable to deter a repeat attempt. Great value. Shop was well run.

This is the best mechanic shop I've been to in the Bay Area. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and the owner Brian is a brilliant mechanic. I've been having issues with my car dying randomly for the past 3 years. I've been to several mechanics with no answer to the point where I gave up solving the problem and bought a portable battery charger for when it dies. After a recommendation from a friend I took my car to Auto Row and Brian had the issue solved in just a few minutes. Thanks Brian!

It depends on the year of the car / truck. I'm 90% sure that no matter the age and type of vehicle it's not over $65.00 they are really great guys
Hi Melissa! A smog inspection is 39.95, plus the state 8.25 certificate fee, total 48.20 out the door. We are happy to make appointments, thanks!
Why a car doesn't pass smog might be simple, or it may be a complex issue. Your best option is to take it in for a smog and see what they say. They will either tell you right there why it doesn't pass, or you may need a diagnostic to find out. That takes time so they'd charge you for it. It may take hours in some rare cases, but they cap their charge to something reasonable. There is no legitimate mechanic who will diagnose your car for free. It takes top level expertise to do that, high tech tools, work, and time. No one could run any business doing it for nothing. My point is that I know Auto Row well, and they are 100% legit. They will not cheat you. They go above and beyond most of the time, so you should just go there and get it done. Otherwise you may get the run-around from others, wasting your time and $$. You'll be happy you went to Auto Row if you do. Brian has more knowledge and technical intelligence than any mechanic I've ever met.
