After realizing how difficult it is to find clean, safe, cat-friendly lodging, we were so relieved to come across the Kearney Motel. There wasn’t any way to reserve a room online, however, the front desk staff was very nice and informative. We were able to quickly book a room upon our spontaneous arrival. The room was spacious and appeared very clean. I’m not sure if every room has one, but we enjoyed the unique, ethereal mural that was hand painted on the ceiling. The location wasn’t exactly welcoming but, we didn’t feel unsafe at any point. I would have given 5 stars but both my boyfriend and I left the next day with some unidentifiable bug bites on our legs. If you’re only staying in town for an evening, the Kearney Motel is not a terrible choice compared to some of the other motels Long Beach has to offer.

I'm a super senior! I arrived at Kearney Motel in late evening with my dog. Clerk advised me they did not allow pets to stay. After pleading for a short period, we were allowed to stay. However, I was unable to sleep at all for fear my dog would bark, etc. The reason I booked that motel was that they advertised Online through a booking company as "Pet Friendly.". For heaven's reasons, STOP THAT!

I made my reservation..paid online. Arrived only to see a "no pets" sign on the window. Then the gentleman, told me even if I let him sleep in the car, it was a problem. I begged him if I could use a restroom, since I assumed I would be checking in..and many places don't have open restrooms anymore. I had just traveled 5 hours. "NO," was his answer to everything. He said they just took over the business, and his boss might fire him. Then said the boss must have forgotten to change the site info. All BS..I found out later. Then he blamed the booking site..still comes up as "pet friendly!"
