Lafayette car wash is my new go to spot. Friendly service and a good cleaning inside and out. A bit pricier than I was used to but in line with other car wash places in our area and better service in my opinion.

I paid $300 for a full interior and exterior detail and engine detail. The interior detail was done all my loose parking meter change was taken, my mail was opened and left in the glove box. The engine was not cleaned. I was informed that detailing was not done at that site when I complained that my money had been taken. But when I called to ask the cashier for the other site where the work was done she informed me it was done there I kept being passed back to the same manager who was not bothered at all .I used to go to the place because I trusted them I have been going there for over eight years I’ve never checked before to make sure my engine has been cleaned but after the money that is usually left on my seat was not there I thought I better check the engine that has not been cleaned. And I paid for this service. The manager Victor informed me I had not opted for this funny it’s on the receipt that I opted for it. Victor‘s only answer was come back I’ll give you a free car wash. I don’t live anywhere close to Lafayette I’m looking at other reviews I guess this happens frequently I will not be going there again and I suggest you don’t go there again either. It’s a shame it used to be a good business.

Excellent cleaning in a reasonable amount of time, considering how busy they were. Only spent $40-something dollars and my car feels brand new, like I did a $100 detailing!

For some background: My parents bought a minivan almost 15 years ago. In that time the car has been on many a road trip, to the mountains, the beach, the desert etc. It has been stuffed full of kids, and dogs and rabbits. And I don’t think it has ever been thoroughly/professionally cleaned on the inside (no judgement please). This past weekend I took the car on a weekend car camping trip to the coast, during which I noticed (and added to) the state of the interior. So I thought this weekend, for my dad’s birthday, I would get the car deep cleaned. I looked at the reviews of every car wash in the east bay, but found that almost all either had bad reviews or were out of my price range. I decided to just take it to the one down the street, Lafayette Car Wash. I was very apprehensive, because many of the recent reviews for this place have been quite negative. But I could not be more pleased with how it turned out. I told them what I wanted (focus on the inside of the car, shampooing of the carpets, wiping of the dash etc) They quoted me a price of $125 and asked how quickly I needed it. I said two hours from now was fine. I will say the car was not ready until about 3 hours after I dropped it off, so be aware if you’re in a hurry. I’m not sure whether this was due to it being a busy Saturday morning, or because the car was particularly dirty. It was worth the extra hour though to have such a clean car. Of course there were many stains that could not be taken out, but all the nooks and cupholders etc were thoroughly cleaned, and the carpets do not have any of the debris they were previously covered with. The car also has a neutral smell, which is a huge improvement. They did not do the trunk (seems to be a separate charge, so ask for it if you want it), so I am using that as a before picture, as it looks like the rest of the car used to. They also provided a paper to step on in the driver’s side well, which another reviewer had complained about not being provided. Maybe they’ve been reading the reviews and trying to improve. Either way I can not recommend this place enough. They did a fantastic job on a really dirty car, and for a reasonable price.
