Many of the visitors give rave reviews about Holy Cross. However, it is unfair for Holy Cross to determine the taxi fare amount on their website under directions and maps. Based on the website, the fare has been the same for more than seven years. Taxi companies determine their own fares based on their cost and economic wellness. One business should not tell another business how much money it can make. I always tip taxi drivers becuase I know they don’t make a lot of money and these are hard economic times for them.

This is a true monastery. If you want to take some time in peace and quiet, and just be in a gorgeous natural setting, this is the place. You can join in the 5 beautiful prayer services a day or not. Everything is sung. The brothers sing like angels. And then there is a period of silence. The food is amazing. The people are open, welcoming, and loving. They truly live by their Christlike ideals.

I was there one night back in the spring of 1982. There were 5 of us visiting from a group called The Covenant Players. I still have very fond memories of the place. We had a great breakfast in total silence with all the monks that one morning. Great historic building and beautiful scenery around it.

Phenomenal place. The brothers are the soul of hospitality (pun intended), the location and food are the best, and the sense of peace and serenity that surround the monastery is a true gift. Can't recommend highly enough.
