I did not have to wait until I was seen by a worker who was very helpful to me

Constant run around for my wife and I. She’s been trying to change her name and they told her she had to go to guilford county office when we live in Randolph. When we call, half the time, they hang up on us after making us listen to a lengthy covid message. As soon as you get the option to talk to someone, they hang up… wish I could give them 0 stars. Time to quit wasting tax payers dollars on this office and terminate the lazy people that work there.

Mr Woody was awesome! Was very prompt in assisting me, extremely professional and very pleasant. Put a smile on my face. Gina Coble

First time I've been here. It's like the DMV except as soon as you get there an Officer named Goines greeted everyone and was real friendly answering any questions asked. My experience was a good one service was quicker than I thought it was going to be.

You should call back to the Social Security Administration and inquire about it due to Covid there may be a delay
Call a head for a appointment
the premises are open to the public
Probably birth certificate. And or license.
Hi !! You could do that on line if you could. Or you just drop by the office. You sign in and take a number. They will call you when your number is up.
Not really. They can help you any day with that. You also can fill out a form on line. If not SS can do that
They have different hours on different days. I would check out the web site. I don't go often enough to know their hours.
Yes! Or you can change it on line
If you are getting your deceased husbands SSI you will lose his. However you could draw on your own if you worked for the past 10 years. Hope this is helpful.
You should be able too use the birth certificate.
Hello! You can do that on the internet if you have a smartphone. Or you can get a form from your local post office.
They are free.
You can either apply on line or go to your nearest office . They can help you with that. You may be able to pick up the form at the post office.
I normally just pick up a change of address card from my local post office.
I would suggest calling them because quite a few things can be done over the phone with no visit required. you don't NEED to make an appt. you can stop in and you'll get a number & wait you're turn. (I've never made an appt & it never took long to get seen).. I'd def call tho bc even if you need to visit the office they'll tell you what documents you would need to bring.
I had to get a replacement SS card for my daughter last year. She was a year old at the time and I had never gotten her birth certificate. Normally they want the birth certificate but the lady was very polite and understanding and ordered the replacement using my daughter's Medicaid card and my licence. it's possible they also wanted proof of address, like a bill or any kind of mail but I could be wrong.. I'd bring a piece of mail just in case.
